i have a troy bilt self propelled mower , shes got a wickedly bent crankshaft , i tried useing my blade adaptor puller to get the adaptor off so i can get it on my straightener , all that did was break part of the blade adaptor , so now after spending hours on hetting this thing off im pretty much stumped i don't know about useing heat cause of the bottom crankshaft seal on the pan , does anyone else have any ideas on how to get this thing off ? any advice is appreciated
thanks

You could try cutting it off carefully.... The seal can be replaced so heat is a good idea...., or find another crank and just cut the end off.

bugman ,
i started cutting the one side w/ my high speed air cutter , this thing is determined to not come off , i've never had to replace the bottom seal on a pan does it require any special tools ?

for the seal you have to take the crank case off,, all you do is knock the old one out and tap the new one in but put lots of oil on it first, i just replaced the top and bottom seals in my engine,,, plus you should pick up and crank case gasket too
