View Full Version : New to 19T
Guys, I'm trying 19T,we run a open 19T class and I'm trying to figure out the different flavors of motors,IE: mt.fuji,D3's, checkpoints and such.I know it's probably a lengthy discussion, but could someone give an overview of each and why you would want one over the other,or is it all just another personal preference thing?
MIKE VALENTINE 04-24-2006, 10:24 AM pepe, what do you mean by open 19 turn class?
Mike,
Any adjustable, fixed timing, handwound or machine wound 19T motors are allowed.
MIKE VALENTINE 04-24-2006, 11:02 AM I guess my question is over the counter motor or hybrids? quad can p94's lawdown brushes, ultra light arms singles doubles triples short stack. Or just plain buy motor race it type class, but alowing c2 with d5 based stuff.
erock1331 04-24-2006, 11:34 AM If its an open class, get a winder to wind you one with 16gu wire instead of 19gu, run P-94 hoods or the checkpoint hoods, and have the arm milled out to make it lighter. Should run like a 12T, lol
If you are running the ARCOR/Roar guidelines (19 gu wire, stand up brushes only, no hybrids, no short stacks, etc) go with either a Epic Mt Fuji, Epic D5 or Truespeed Orion/Top version. At the ARCOR race the Orion/Top version was king. At the ROAR nats I believe the Epic Fuji was used to TQ and win. If not it was a D5 which are the same motor except for the older style endbell.
YES! Arcor,Roar guidelines.
adamliehr 04-24-2006, 03:11 PM I'm not a big fan of the fuji's.
Other than that I agree with Erock.

MIKE VALENTINE 04-24-2006, 03:58 PM adam it always seems the fuji endbells had better hood alignment to me. besides that their the same as a d5. What don't you like about them besides the smaller solder tabs.
adamliehr 04-24-2006, 04:49 PM I just haven't had them run as well as the d5. I know humpty and some other guys like them, but I just haven't had any luck with them.

Arnie Fie 04-24-2006, 05:53 PM TrueSpeed has the new Cobalt 2 based 19 turn motors now available. Aluminum endbell, more "oval-friendly" can than the D5, more top end pull. Soon to be ARCOR approved.
Arnie,who is selling the truespeed's?
Arnie Fie 04-25-2006, 09:18 AM pepe: Any hobbyshop that currently carries our products or you can call us, either way that work for you.
JPH Racing 04-25-2006, 01:22 PM Pepe: You may want to try one of the new Checkpoint 19's, if you track allows them.
