View Full Version : First Seaford race...April 29th
Al Spina 04-22-2006, 02:29 PM I am planning on being at the first race of the year. I understand the first race is going off at 7 p.m. (just when it starts to get cold). It would sure be nice to have the racing in the afternnon or late afternoon to catch the warmer part of the day and to give us guys that have to travel a couple of hours to get to the track a chance to get home at a decent time.........................................
JH Racing 04-23-2006, 08:31 PM Come on Al a couple of naps on the way home you will be just fine as far as the cold part goes you old guys just need to dress warmer my pop is the same way.
ptown20 04-23-2006, 08:47 PM Al, I can appreciate how you feel about the cold as I know how it affects me now. I would let you pit in my trailer if I was going to be there but I'll be on my way home from a week in 90 degree weather in Mexico. Trying to warm up these old bones before racing season. See everyone in a couple of weeks.
Paul
JOHN B 04-23-2006, 09:03 PM 7 pm is a late start how about 3 or 4 or the latest 5
abdule 04-24-2006, 05:49 AM that's one of the biggest things that keeps the turn out to a minimum, why is the start time so late on a Saturday?
Anytime72 04-24-2006, 06:36 AM Al, double up on the Geritol (?sp?) Wish I could be there this weekend. Have fun guys.
Walter

JH Racing 04-25-2006, 07:17 PM It don't seem to matter when I go up north and their is a late start time and then I get home at say 3 in the morning .
abdule 04-25-2006, 08:05 PM That still doesn't give an anserw to why so late.............but that's O.K. one practice nite for an ORL Race that will be in the heat of the day???????????
JH Racing 04-25-2006, 08:19 PM Here is the answer it was voted by the club to have that start time.
ptown20 04-25-2006, 08:41 PM George,
we tried the earlier start times a couple of years ago and not a single person from the north came. We try to suit the people that race with us on a regular basis and have a couple that work Saturdays. No matter what time we start someone will not like it, sorry that this time it's you.
JH Racing 04-25-2006, 08:55 PM What's the since of having lights if we are not going to use them?
Alan Behler 04-25-2006, 10:54 PM hmmmm,
if i remember correctly we moved up the ORL race to try to boost the turn out for your track. now it seems that this track does not want us there
just so you know that before an ORL race the track hosting the race gets a boost in entries. but if you do not want this then fine. i thought about coming this saturday but i will not learn much about a set up at 7pm
i guess i will go to the mill for some asphalt set up
they race during the day
cya race day
abdule 04-26-2006, 05:39 AM Alan, is the Mill opening this weekend?
Alan Behler 04-26-2006, 07:08 AM nope, not until next week
BEACH 04-26-2006, 03:07 PM Alan, is the Mill opening this weekend?
We are gettin' her ready boys! CANT WAIT
ptown20 04-26-2006, 04:11 PM Guys,
The track will be open from noon Saturday so you could get all the practice you should want. We will not race until 7:00, as I stated earlier we have club members that work on Saturdays and with this being our first race of the year I do not beleive it would be fair to them to start to early for them to race. We will be racing next Saturday also and maybe if everyone is in agreement the start time for that race could be moved up, but that will be up to the members
abdule 04-26-2006, 04:50 PM well, it's off to the High Banks of the "White Monster"

JH Racing 04-30-2006, 08:47 AM Racing went pretty well last night was really pleased with my red ride.
Bill Auchterlonie 04-30-2006, 12:33 PM Although the temp got down to the fifties last night the track was surprizing fast. Especially for the first race of the season. This year we are spraying the track down with grape soda to keep it consistant week in and week out. It worked better than I had hoped with several 35 lap runs and almost a 36 in stock.
Thanks to Mike Bailey for running the shop along with Mrs. Durnburger as well.
JH Racing 04-30-2006, 04:15 PM I think the grape soda helped a bunch and yea my truck said the temp was 43 degrees it was cold Bill you done a nice job on the mike too.
