So far I've been usin' Bondo to fill in big seam's, the top 'o the box's on them H.W. Hauler's to smooth out the ridge's etc. Prob is, there is a lot 'o waste.
The Bondo glazin' spot putty look's like it may be an option. The way I see it, I don't need to mix it, jus' get sum outta the tube, apply it an let it dry/'arden. Am I tinkin' the right way on this an 'as anyone us'd it?

I have used it and it works pretty good but work in thin layers or else it will crack when it is hardened. I prefer to use the metal putty that comes in a tube that you just cut a small chunck off and knead it together then just push it into place but the downside to this stuff is you have to work fairly fast because it dries pretty quick.
Just my 2 cents

Mainly what I've been wantin' is like fillin' in the wheel slot's when I put the axle under the base, did a seam on a bigger die cast that screw'd together but the seam was large, when joinin' two part's together an fillin' in the small seam, stuff 'o that nature.
Tank's for the input. :)

Hey Dude,
Cowboy88 has it right,..The stuff he refers to is "QuickSteel " steel reinforced putty..Hardens in 15 minutes (after you knead it for like 4-5), I think If I read you right You want something to fill the axel grooves & help hold the axels where you want them. Is this right?
I'll say it again..JB Quick is the most useful stuff/goop/putty/epoxy/mud/crack filler/body filler/shaper out there!
Once you learn how to work & shape this you'll never want to use anything else again..As far as wasted material..I use the JB that's left after application to form miniature parts like..Differential covers,batteries,carburators,NOS bottles,even an occasional hood scoop,etc...No waste.

Sound's groovy then. Seem's like usin' that putty to 'old the axle's in place would be groovier than the super goo an could mold sumtin' to set the axle in as well. An fillin' in seam's etc.
Does that stuff sand easily like bondo after it 'arden's?
Tank's for the info to both 'o ya's.

10 min set time sound's like plenty 'o time for what I need. :)
I still want to know if it sand's/shape's as easy as bondo once it's set.
* * Like's the smell 'o bondo as well * *
I do the bondo/sandin' out in the garage, so the fume's per say, ain't an issue for me though.

sands alil harder than bondo but well worth the effort. i keep scrap shavings or better word file shavings and mix it into the jb weld. once you find the correct measurements the results are unreal..or another word MR.roto filings----
i wont say anymore on this. its one of my secreats of making stretch nose cars. you cant even tell where it was cut.
