katf1sh 04-21-2006, 04:57 PM ok fellas from may 3rd until about may 10th i am going to be recovering from surgery. my nose needs surgery and i go under the knife may 3rd. the doctors say it will be a week of @#%$. the good news is i should be up and about after that, and i won't be able to go back to work until the 22nd of may. so i may not be able to answer focar related questions for a week or so. dave p and dave butts along with cneyedog and a few others are going to step into my big @#%$ shoes for a week. i should be able to get to my cell phone though.

David Butts 04-23-2006, 12:05 PM We had several racers show up this past Friday night to get a head start on taming the Monster.
Looks like this race is going to be a real barnburner.
Brushless, 19t and 12th scale cars are gettining into the low 6's, Thats real fast at this place. about 45 mph on the straights. weeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Stocks are running High 6's(well some of them)
Even had a Sprint car take some laps with the counter on. Looks like if you cant get to the low 7's or high 6's you'll be following the leader in this class.
The new white paint in the corners did exactly as was expected. It gives a much more of a visual indicator of just where to run in the corners without the unexpected crash caused by misjudging by an inch and hitting the pipe.
The white line is not the fast way around the track either, Show it some respect and it wont hand the Monster your car on a plate. Munch munch munch.
Sounds like its going to be a really rocket fast track to drive on for sure!
Will have the tire turer in hand for sure as Team Naples opens a can of woppa$$.
Can't wait to do some taming on the monster..

chicken!!!!!!!!!!! yellow chicken!!!!!!!!!
wow what a night 48 entries. awesome just awesome
Jerry Parrott made his return to the monster Brian Roebuck came up from Daytona for the second straight week. Troy "dude" Meridith made the trek also for the 2nd week in a row. the good news no gas hose!! The Ocala boys were also in attendance. Christian Ginter became the 4th person to run 39 laps in 19T adding his name to a very stout list. Pedano Bucci Boylan and Ginter the 39 club!!! I missed it by .99 and Kip missed it by .45
in brushless history was made again with the first sub 6sec lap. Both myself and Tom Pedano both ran 5.9 laps and Tom reset his own track record. I also ran 39 laps becoming the 2nd member of that club Tom Pedano is the other. and in the 2nd qual I managed to escape with only a broken center shock after my spektrum went "@#%$" going into 1 it was and impressive display of "oh sh!t i'm no longer contolling my car" needless to say the spektum will be taking a vaction to Champaign, IL for a few days of R & R. lol David "the pirate" Butts Arrrrrrrr has stepped it up. he ran strong all night. turn a personal best and a very stout 38 laps.
12th 19t Bear was super fast turning some 6.0's but unfortunately he went to the Bill Fraden school of battery charging. dumping hard! on his head. in the main lol JK Bear I had to. lol look for him to be very strong for FOCAR.
stock was pedano again But this time Steve Pedano dominated the night Steve has stepped it up proving that his win at the Speedway race was no fluke. every week he knocks on the door of 35 laps and the Monster says. "35 laps not here, watch out for that lapped car." Steve will run 35 soon. that club has 2 members Myself and Tom Pedano.
over all it was a great night of racing. see ya next week.
David Butts 04-30-2006, 11:01 AM AH NUTS!!!
I will not be able to make the Jax race at the monster mile!! :(
Will see all you guys at Race Rock!!

davepull 05-06-2006, 03:04 AM ah just got back from the track what a night.
we had 50 entries
Mike Boylan and Bill Spicer made the trip up along with Jerry Parrott, Troy "dude" Meridith, the Ocala boys and the usual cast of HW regulars
Did get to watch much of the racing tonight but this I can tell yah the 39 Lap club has a new member ME ME ME lol final I hit 39. Mike Boylan and Christian Ginter also renewed the membership. Kip Elderbush (I butchered that last name) put in his application but "the monster" denied it. Kip ran a strong 38 flat. this all sounds good right? well not to Tom Pedano. with the competition closing in Mr Pedano stepped it up running a blistering 40 4:05!!!!!!!! great job Tom. you deserve it. the monster was not kind to the 19t drivers in the main. in the end there were LF suspension pieces and entire rear pods littering the track when the dust settled Mike Boylan came out of the cloud a little dirty but in one piece. I was second and I have no clue who was 3rd. Over all it is looking like it will take a 39 lap run to make the main for FOCARS.
in 4300 BL Tom Pedano again was the class of the field. taking TQ followed by Myself then Mike Short Dave "the Pirate" Butts (tm) for the race again the monster was not kind in the End I came out of the dust with the win not without a little drama I experience a thermal shut down in the middle of 3/4 on the last corner and made the helpless coast home.
12th 19t saw BEAR charge to the win of the Paint By Focker team cars of John Maher and Jeremy "Mr Horsepower" Kent.
Stock saw Steve Pedano again set up and smack the kids taking the TQ and win.
katf1sh 05-06-2006, 11:01 PM sounds like 40 laps will be TQ in 19 turn and a 39 4:03:57 will get you in the show on the 20th.... brushless will be 39 laps for the TQ and a 36 lapper will get you in the show.
the monster is giving up some track records in 2 weeks!

I'll go one further, I think BL will hit 40 laps too. Proabably not in qualifying but in the main, It'll take 38 to make the show. After seeing what these little motors that can are capable of sofar, I see no reason why the 40 lap barrier will remain unbroken. There is no black art voodoo in making these cars run. Get them to turn without scrubbing speed. Put a humongus pinion on it and drive a very smooth line about 6 inches off the paint(or in it:rolleyes:) and hold on.
Friday night in the 1st qual. I had a couple of wiggly moments and one complete 360 degree spin and still ran a 37 4:01.
Going even farther out on that limb, I think that 19t(39) will have the largest amount of entries followed by 4300(25), then 12th 19t(22),stock(21), Prostock(10), novice(14), then sprintcar(5). Thats a total of 136!. And notice I didnt include sedan oval or trucks? Hmm? Those numbers are attainable. Lets doo eet.:hat:
katf1sh 05-11-2006, 05:14 PM don't forget that the series allows for two race promoter classes. the classes are 15.00 to enter and trophies would be provided by the track. this is in place to allow for the local tracks to involve the local racers who may not have a car or motor that fits the focar rules. example: touring oval with truck bodies like speedline runs on a regular basis. or a spec class....this way everyone can race on a focar date and not be left out of the fun! just thought i would throw that out there.
we also added another sponsor: DISCOUNT TIRE! they will be throwing in gift certificates for 25.00 off any purchase of 250.00 or more at any discount tire store! thanks to david butts for pulling in a non r/c company!
katf1sh 05-12-2006, 06:21 PM i took a look at the weather for friday and saturday. 0% chance!!!!!!!! let's go racing boys!
dave w 1 05-12-2006, 07:27 PM Hi guys any one who is looking for some help in the fl state series sorry no 100% rides please let me know i think its time voodoo returned to the great state of fl! thanks
rcgen 05-13-2006, 09:47 AM One week to go....
David Butts 05-13-2006, 10:08 AM One week to go....
If you listen really hard, You'll hear the distant hum of tire truers and comm lathes. Mixed in with the almost silent mumbling from a 100 or so racers. What are they saying to themselves? Shhhhhhh, Whats this? Uh oh, I think I made out a little bit, Yep, I have it, Hmmmm how do we catch those Pedano's?
Bring on your "A" game fellers. We's gonna have us a big race up here. Weeeeeeeeeee!
I'll be there scratching my head and wondering how they go so fast!!!:freak:
