Dirtydrc 04-11-2006, 04:15 PM Hey Mark! It's Dale Cote. Nice talking with you Saturday. I will spread the word. For those old time dirt oval guys out there, this track should be a twin to the old A&D Fastracks in Brewster NY, which was the best oval around in its day.
Scrubb 04-11-2006, 04:32 PM Hey Dale,
I'm going to see if i can get some of the new red clay we got for the outdoor track into the indoor building. We had a trophy race on sunday with 92 entries of 1/18 nitro and monster trucks. The test corner we laid the clay in didn't rut at all during the race. It should work really well on the oval, when dry, it should blue groove with enough racers running on it.
Mark
Dirtydrc 04-11-2006, 07:36 PM Wow. Red clay, indoors, unaffected by the weather. Sounds like the optimal surface. What portions of the oval would be used during off-road racing?
Scrubb 04-12-2006, 04:43 AM probably most of it, we would just need to remove two barriers to the center for off-road, one to get in, one to get out.
Scrubb 04-12-2006, 10:48 AM I had the Wolcott forum changed to include an Oval section.

omnis85 04-12-2006, 11:05 AM Any idea as to how far away your track is from norwich ct, near mohegan sun. foxwoods area? This sounds like it would be fun.
Scrubb 04-12-2006, 11:47 AM right next to Waterbury. around 45 minutes.

NHRCRACER 04-16-2006, 08:21 PM This could be really cool. What bodies are people planning on running in the different classes? Anyone interested in running sprints?
Scrubb 04-16-2006, 09:40 PM I'm not sure what everybody is going to run, all i know is we need to get everybody on the same forum, I know alot of the guys that I'm putting in the dirt oval for are on Nick Leone's website: Http://www.nicks-simworld.com

Scrubb 04-17-2006, 07:13 AM Hey Erich,
I still need to move dirt :0), i have to flatten out the existing jumps on the outside lanes and then have Lester bring down some red clay for the oval and lay that out, i would like to try to get everybody organized on one forum (preferably the wolcott (http://www.wolcotthobby.com) forum or leone's site) so there is a common place to chat, right now i'm going on five or six forums and I don't know enough about what classes everybody is going to run.
ekid138 04-17-2006, 07:38 PM You have a PM!
oldtimer 04-18-2006, 12:01 AM ok ekid give it up
ekid138 04-18-2006, 09:41 PM give what up? mind your own business regardless of what "it" is anyway! LOL. :freak:

PUF19 05-16-2006, 08:31 PM Any word on the track?
omnis85 05-25-2006, 11:06 PM yes whats the word? would like to check this out. it would be closer for me than extreme
ekid138 05-26-2006, 05:06 PM I don't know why I feel compelled to answer for Wolcott... MARK!!! :) I talked to Lester yesterday and he said he was getting another load of dirt (hopefully today... friday) and was hoping to be ready next week. I'm going up this sunday to race... i'll see if I can find out more.
Scrubb 05-28-2006, 08:12 AM Still waiting to put up some track barriers and order more dirt, we lengthened the track to the other wall, so now the track has about an 80 foot straight and is no longer tight around the far right corner. Oh yeah I leveled out the whole track, no off-road in the middle now, pure dirt-oval baby!
ekid138 05-29-2006, 11:50 AM Hear that! Lester said he was getting the dirt this week... just has to figure out the roller situation (coil died on his). nothing wrong with a nearly 200' DO in CT! Thanks Mark.
Scrubb 05-30-2006, 10:01 PM hey Erich, did you sell lester that dirt oval car in the shop or do you still own it on consignment? asking because i'm intrested in the speed control
Todd Putnam 05-31-2006, 09:00 AM Mark/Lester:

Madball 06-01-2006, 09:01 PM Hey TP If they build it, will you come
Todd Putnam 06-02-2006, 08:50 AM ...absolutely. I'll lead the caravan of dirt oval racers right to Lester's front door...
Tell him to shine up the Airsoft display, lots of guys around here like guns...
Madball 06-02-2006, 07:16 PM At a Boy
jonnycash 06-02-2006, 09:43 PM Is the track open yet? Looks like rain on saturday, would make a great indoor dirt oval day.
Scrubb 06-03-2006, 09:28 AM hopefully the track will be done and ready for sat 10th
omnis85 06-03-2006, 10:03 AM great a day i cant make it there. any pics of the layout?
Scrubb 06-03-2006, 10:24 AM i'll take a pic in a little bit today
NHRCRACER 06-03-2006, 06:15 PM Are the corners banked?
Besides converted 2WD buggies, anyone have any plans to run other classes? Converted touring cars with late model bodies, maybe?
omnis85 06-03-2006, 06:38 PM I dont know if its legal but have seen a few guys make there own chassis and I am actualy in the process of doing the same. dirt contraption. I prefer this because I just like to make cars and see if they run. To me its more fun than racing.
ekid138 06-04-2006, 08:34 PM great a day i cant make it there. any pics of the layout?

omnis85 06-08-2006, 08:29 PM romo, I asked to get a pic of the layout, but ment a pic of the track, to get an idea as to what size and what the place looked like, I wasnt specific, he was making a joke with the letter o as the pic of the track meaning oval. It was funny, "lord I apoligize" is from a comedian. makin fun is all

Madball 07-03-2006, 05:05 PM Hey Dirty, I'm going over every thing, if their open sat. I'll be there. I hope to look better than last weekend.
PUF19 07-03-2006, 05:41 PM Looks like wolcott is not ready yet, I talked to them today. so lets see if we can get 56 laps this week!
Dirtydrc 07-05-2006, 09:15 AM Mark / Anyone... What do you think the schedule will be like for indoor oval thru the winter? I heard you are going year-round with the oval, but on one of Wolcott's forums, I see guys talking about getting their indoor off-road vehicles together for the upcoming season. What's the real scoop? Oval only? Oval and off-road? Off-Road only? I realize you can't say for sure without seeing what attendance you get, but lots of inquiring minds want to know, and your plans will dictate what a bunch of guys future plans will be. Thanks!
Madball 07-06-2006, 10:49 PM Went there tonight, dirt was not delivered yet. Nice size. Maybe dubble duty in winter, depending on turn out.
Scrubb 07-12-2006, 09:09 AM I doubt any of the nitro guys at Wolcott are getting their "winter" electrics ready yet.
In the winter, there will without a doubt, be off-road.
I don't know if Lester plans on making it oval only until winter, or if he plans on making it oval/off-road right from the start.
