i'm new to r/c, and i suck! i have a duratrax evader st and i've put it through everything. i've changed the motor. i've changed the esc. and i've broken just about every plastic part on the truck! here's what i can't decide. my birtday is rollin' around, and i'm getting money,(i'm only 11 fyi). so what truck should i buy that's durable, from team losi, and will help me improve my driving skills?

KEEP THE EVADER!!! its a good truck, its really easy to drive too, yea i broke a lot of parts doing really stupd things.... losis are good but id keep the evader no sense buying a new expensive losi and just ruining it! ive found that the evader st durable if you use it for what its made for. the reason the losis are called so durable is because every one who has one races and dosent bash or do stupid thing like jump off half pipes(not too smart) or jump off docks on to frozen ice and hit the thing you tie the boat to and crack an a-arm(not smart either)or come flying across a bus stop parking lot and smack a rock (15t motor + right gearing = fast!) and crack the rear skid plate that holds the a-arms in place then fix it with duct tape and go back out there and break somthing else!!! keep your evader its really a good truck, if you use it smartly ( dont do what i do!) its actully in my opinion better than a losi. btw: its still runnin strong!

Some good tips were said by the guy inbetween our posts, however if you are thinking of racing, then the Losi is a great truck. The MF2 is my choice. I race it a lot and this is my 3rd one. Just keep it up and do the necessarry maintenance and you will be fine. Of you are just bashing around the neighborhood, then save your money till you decide to race. Then get the Losi.

DO NOT KEEP THE EVADER!!!!!!!!!!!, from what I have seen in the racing community I would get a losi,,,,,,,,,,,, sure the duratrax is cheap but the losi is just an all around better truck,,,

Losi makes a great truck! It was one of the first trucks I bought. I'm partial to Team Associated. In my opinion both are capable trucks. One thing to keep in mind is what parts do they stock in your area. If you need to use mail order you want to get a truck that parts are ready and in stock and dont charge and arm and a leg for shipping. See what the local guys are running. If you are going to race you will need to know how to set up your truck, and asking some guys at the track is a good way to start. Any racer worth half his salt will be more then happy to help out a new guy. If you are going to stay in the back yard what you have now will be just fine. None of these trucks will improve your driving skills only practice, The latest and greatest gear can't make up for bad driving and poor maintance.
