Can anybody figure out how he modified the gear plate?

My only guess is he took 2 and cut 'em and glued 'em together. I saw a guy selling 4wd Tjets similar to these at a show in Philly maybe 5 years ago... only he used original Tjet chassis and JL '59 Corvette bodies, I think. It was actually Bud's HO selling them, IIRC. He said someone else made them. They were all packaged up, pretty professional-looking...

I noticed he doesn't show you a shot of the chassis in the front where he had to cut it to get the crown gear to fit. Again, just a guess, but I bet it's a train wreck. I did a FWD Tjet where I had to do that and it's a pain... and I don't think JL plastic cuts as nice and clean as Aurora...

I just asked seller for an overhead pic of chassis bottom and 3/4 rear of bottom. Lets see what happens. :)

On the arial shot of the gear plate, it looks like he cut the plate just forward of the armature gear and glued the other half gear plate on there.
Like Rick, I was hoping to see the crown gear work. But I know if I put this much into a 4WD I wouldn't sell it especially if it worked well.

Seller sent me an Email thanking me for my interest.
He says he has alot of 4wd ready for auction and will post better pics of the bottom when he puts another on auction. Sounds reasonable to me!

Definitely looks like a cut mark on the overhead shot. Great idea, just remember to reverse the crown gear & axle in the front so they run in the same direction.  rr
