Ready to finally run a Race Rock event!
RCThunder 05-23-2006, 05:35 PM Saturday night - the last time the cars hit the track at DUSK - is the 3rd ever Thunder 100. It is a 100 lap stock car race where you have 2 pit men and you have to stop between lap 20 and 80 and change all 4 tires. Class is limited to 10 cars. Cost is 10 bucks winning team gets all the cash (good Saturday dinner on the racers!). Had a good time the last couple years doing this for sure! Pick your driver and 2 teams. We may throw a loop in it.
And Fuller - you have to pit in pit road
And Kat - it doesn't mean pit between lap 20 and 80
And Daryl - you will save time by not drinking beer in between tire changes
And Merideth - charge your pack this time
And Malin - can you crew of Bean and Maher repeat the win again?
Can't wait to watch this one!!!!!!!!!!!

David Butts 05-31-2006, 06:15 PM Any idea the size the of track is going to be in comparision to MTR, Strickland, etc...
They have curbs that limit the width and the track last year was about as long as a track you may be familiar with. Seen any tracks that look like this anywhere? Hint? The Mini-Monster

rcgen 05-31-2006, 08:02 PM Oh, ok. I've been to busy pulling linoleum this week and next week will be the carpet. A remodeling project that finally caught up with me. LOL So, I haven't been able to test the car out on a short track. I get out this weekend and next weekend for good behavior so I can play with the little cars. Do you have a good setup for the Maverick for short tracks? I was going to try the MTR but I think I need to go stiffer.
David Butts 06-01-2006, 08:43 PM Tick tock, Tick tock
RCThunder 06-01-2006, 09:29 PM I got chills!! Can't wait! Hope everyone is excited about the racing!!!
amusicwiz 06-05-2006, 09:24 AM Mother Nature got in the way of the Mains but was still a fun racing event. Lots of close competition. Was Super having the CustomWorks guys there. Rob Cutman knows how to drive that Sprinter, for sure! And Arnie had his car on a rail.
Looking forward to the next Race Rock event.
Bob
Thanks to Mike & Mike & Mel & Kenny!
RCThunder 06-05-2006, 04:22 PM What a weekend. Thanks to all the racers that came to support the 8th Race Rock Oval Champs! We didn't get to run the mains cause of rain. But I hope everyone had a great time. I will post some more when I get home. Still moving trailers around!!
Thanks DAVE for the results. Race Results and more here:
www.rcresults.com/clubs/The_8th_Race_Rock_Champs/ (http://www.rcresults.com/clubs/The_8th_Race_Rock_Champs/)
A big thanks to the guys that make it happen (from A-Z): Mike Bean, Ken Holmes, Mel McCoy, and John Moukie. These guys worked hard on the track and everything else and I could not do it without them!
Thanks to the sponsors. Custom Works surprised us and came down. The chassis seminar was awesome with Arnie! These companies dontated to the raffle: Bad Dog Hobbies, Competition Electronics, Darkside Motorsports, JBR Cells, TQ Cells, Tekin, EA Motorsports. Thanks!
CYA soon!
rcgen 06-05-2006, 07:29 PM I had a great time for my first Race Rock. The only bad part was the rain before the mains. It just made me want more of this short track racing. It was way too cool.
Thanks to everyone for the race: Boylan, Scarecrow, Bean, Mel and of course Race Rock and fellow racers. See you all soon....maybe a couple of days LOL
Also let's not forget David Croy for lap times and race results on the web. I had my laptop at the race and was able to access the web to see my lap times.
RCThunder 06-05-2006, 10:21 PM Thanks!
A big congrats to Arnie Fie being the 2006 All- Star Champion and to Rob Cutman winning the highly competitive and exciting nitro sprint class on the oval.
