hello, first time posting just found this board.
I have a murry mower with a tecumsey tvs90 46080c engine.
When I start it it will start fine on the first try but it will be at a low to moderat idle. I can put back on the govner to fully ingage the choke and it will start but i can not get it to a fast enuff speed to do any cutting. Any I Thoughs?

Change it and don't run it till its fixed though.... It sounds like since its getting gas in the crankcase. Either the inlet needle is sticking, or the float. Or the Inlet needle and or inlet needle seat is leaking, or the float has a pinhole and has sunk. I'd put a new needle and seat in it, and check the float for fuel sloshing or heavyness. The float should be parallel to the carb.

come to think of it when I first tryied to run it I went and changed the oil and a few other thing to it. and when I did crank it gas was pooring out of the muffler. I did take it apart and brake cleaned the carb. when i put it back to gather it didnt do it any more , but I do not thing I checked the oil after words.
I put new oil in it and I think The carb is the problem though,I was just messing with it and I can now get it to full speed if I sit there and pump the priming ball.
