I've never been able to understand why England gets things before us. babylon 5 was released in its entirety ther on VHS before they even started releasing the tapes in the US (out of order!!!!), and they never even finished the series on tape here!

As someone living in England, I have to say on balance that the US tends to get things way before the UK!

e.g. You've had the directors cut of Sin City since before Christmas. The UK release is not until August as some bright spark in marketing thought it'd be great to use as part of the promo push for Sin City 2!

Samurai Jack season 1 came out a couple of months ago here, I bought the US version nearly 2 years ago! (same as Starship Troopers Roughnecks)

The US also has stuff on DVD that'll never get a release in the UK.

Legend (Ridley Scott) in the US is available with the US and UK edits. In the UK we get the UK vanilla disc only.

Brasil (Terry Gilliam) in the US the criterion 3 disc. In the UK long version vanilla only.

In the UK we never got all of Star Trek TNG on VHS, but thats because DVD took over mid release, I suspect thats what happened to Babylon 5 in the US. However Babylon 5 is available in its entirety on DVD
