Dude502 03-30-2006, 10:11 PM Hot Wheels 1981 Peterbilt Tank Truck & Screamers Car Launcher.
This one was spray'd an brush'd.
Us'd what was left from the two to make one tank truck. Cut off the trigger section 'o the Screamer's launcher, fill'd in the side's an add'd a headache rack, cut into the back end to insert the hinge so the bed would tilt a bit.
This truck is well us'd from it's bent an bust'd fender, white paint on the tyre's from 'avin' to drive thru anytin' to get the car to the dark color "primer" on the fender's from 'avin' to push thru stuff. :)

I'm tinkin' 'bout gettin' the part's they 'ave on that web site that 'as the trailer's... It's got two type's 'o flat bed gig's that seem like they would do well on a pick up or 'mmebe a cut up DD or, I dunnano, still tinkin' 'bout that one, will 'ave to wait until I actually buy one 'o them an see what the size is like.

IT takes time and i know that you can do it.
just slow down a bit.
im gonna give you my honest opinion and that is to slow down your trying to crank out to many customs in one shot.
take your time and even you will see the diffrence....in quality and quanty.
get the basics down first then move up. i see in the future some great cars comming from you. you have the heart now focuse on the detail.
trust me on this i was where you are at one time and someone said the same thing im saying to you.
i could crank out a car every4 hours. and trust me it dont work..you will soon tire of customs if you keep going like you are.
#1 make a plan
#2 get parts needed
#3 start project and follow threw..at first keep it simple then as you progress you can change your plan.
#4 take all critizume...weather bad or good... if you cant take the negitive then your lost.
and let me tell you the hw board can be crule very crule...i had my hard knocks but took it... if you can get pass that. you will be there customizing and proud of what you do. not how many you can crank out.
i hope what i said dont offend you but helps you in the future.
as i see it... it's a hobby not a living....
Dude502 03-30-2006, 11:48 PM Tank's for the input an for noticin' as well Gunn. Criti, good or bad is the only way I can find out 'ow other's see what I do. I only see mine veiw 'o what I do, it's all 'o you 'ere that are gonna 'elp me to improve.
I do notice at time's I go to fast on 'em, when I notice it I slow down an take more time. Sum day's I know I get in to big 'o a 'urry, not real sure why other than I tink it's jus' cuz I wanna do one an am diggin' the way it's goin' etc. An that's a bad ting.
The makin' the plan I've got down real good, I've got a whole pile 'o car's 'ere apart an stripp'd an in seperate baggie's. I look at 'em an look at 'em an it jus' 'it's me on what to do with it. Sum peice's get almos' assembly line paint'd. If I've got like 5 car's that the base is gonna be the same colour, then they all get shot at once, but sum sit unfinish'd for another week.
As far as part's, now I am gettin' a supply 'o part's built up, as well the part's/donor's Jeff so generously sent me an I'm learnin' what are good donor's car's to buy. This is givin' me more option's, so that's a good ting.
There are time's I get disgust'd when ting's 'appen, drop, mess up, won't go back together right, mess up paint puttin' it back together, etc. That's a bad ting. But I don't stop, I find a way to fix the wrong an get back on track. That's a good ting. I post all I do no matter 'ow crappy I know it look's. That part ain't alway's easy, but I see it is a way to improve mineself. That's a good ting.
hope what i said dont offend you but helps you in the future.
as i see it... it's a hobby not a living....
I am not offend'd at all. I want feedback, that's why I post all that I create. As far as it bein' a livin', now that would be kick ass, get paid to play with toy car's. :) Almos' as good as gettin' paid to play video game's. :p
In all, I know there are a lot 'o time's I'm not seein' me doin' what I shouldn't be doin', but it's damn'd nice to know that other's can see it, but what's better is that sumone speak's up to make me see it.
With that I tink I've typ'd 'nuff this time.
Tank's for the eye opener Gunn.

camaro dude 71 03-31-2006, 12:05 AM from another fellow customizer i'd have to say that gunn is right. i run a customs store out of ebay and i can tell you first hand that it's easy to get caught up in the speed process. i've scrapped quite a few cars 'cause they were rushed, hacked, or just didn't look right when they were finished. as gunn stated it's also a hobby for me. there's not much profit involved when you break it all down. when i tell people that i just sold a custom for $30 they have no idea what the overhead is which includes $8 in cars, paint, decals, electricity, my time, ebay/paypal fees, and shipping. anyway... be patient, love what you do, and do what you love.
Dude502 03-31-2006, 12:12 AM I also learn'd VERY quickly that when I start to get frustrat'd with a project to let it sit for a bit, or the next day, or what it take's to be able to get a fresh un - frustrat'd look at it. That's what I'm doin' with the JL explosion that 'appen'd tonite. I'll let it sit for a day or two, see what I can do with it an go from there.
Tank's for you'r input, as well for showin' that you do the same an 'ave project's go the wrong way at time's from doin' what I'm doin'. That as well show's me that it's not jus' me an that I suck at custom's, I've jus' more to learn. With each one I do I seem to gain a bit 'o experiance an learn jus' a 'lil more.
