Pony is going to get to meet Kerry!!!! Talked to his PR guy today and he's setting it up! He tried to get us Hot Passes but they're real strict at Martinsville on it cause it's so small.

Oh and yesterday I got given tix, pepsi zone and pit tours for sunday! Well actually I don't have them in hand yet but I think the source is good for it, I'll find out for sure on thursday. Only problem is no hotel, I found one about 50 miles away but I'm scared to reserve it without tix in hand, if you cancel you lose your money.

Yeah, the hotels fill up fast when the race is in town. How far are you from Martinsville?

When we went to Pocono (three hours away), Bristol (eight to ten hours away), and Charlotte (also about eight to ten hours away) we drove straight down and back.

It's only about a 3 hr ride but if I'm gonna be there for sat race and sun, by the time I got home sat night it would be time to leave for sunday morning. Besides the way gas prices are it would cost a small fortune!

Have you checked hotel/motel prices lately? Especially on a race weekend? :eek: I'd rather go with the gas prices.

The time, however, is a good point- I didn't realize you were going to both races.

LOL, yes I have seen the prices!!!! I did find one about 50 miles back for 100 bux a comfort suites and theres quite a few in lynchburg, about 80 miles back for reguler prices, around 50 bux.

Funny story, there is this little roach motel close to the track called best lodge. I thought maybe since they had no internet and such they might have a room so I called. This little asian women answers:

her: Best Lodge, how I help?

me: I don't suppose you have any rooms for sat night?

her: yes we have rooms

me: really? How much do they run?

her: $250.00 one night

me:........ah, I see why you have rooms availible, thanks anyway

Oh well might not have to worry about it, I haven't got tickets in hand yet anyway, I'm starting to get worried :(

we did end up going to both races but my friend didn't come through with the sunday tix so we bought some, front row, backstretch. I got so fried, brain & body. I'm now recouperating with aloe and tylenol. But it was sooooooo worth it!

I'll probably get an 8 x 10, but what I want to do is take a pic and my ticket to the truck race and mount them on the sign and have it framed. i think it will make a nice display :)
