Hi guys. I am sure this has been discussed before and if it has my sincere apologies. Being in a Batman state of mind currently, I really wish Adam West's Batman series was on DVD. If I remember correctly, it hasn't because of the typical greed in Holywood. Fox wants a cut, Waner Bros wants a cut, DC Comics wants a cut ETC....Is this the story?? I am a big Keaton Batman fan but the love of the character started with Adam West's version. Regards, Beatlepaul.

That's pretty much the story as I've heard it.

Doesnt the family of one of the producers have some claim on the show as well?
Either way eventually they will figure something out because all sides now that now they will get a boatload of money, they wait too long and that ship will sail. Not to say they won't make a lot either way.

A boatload of money is right. Seems like there'd be enough to go around.

I think we'll also have to wait until George Barris dies before we're gonna get any batmobile models. With him, I think it's the pride of ownership, his heirs will want the money and will release the rights.

George wants the diecast Batmobile replicas out there. He is as frustrated as we are about the whole thing. It is Warner and Fox who can't come to terms with their portions of the rights. He's not holding back anything.

If you want to hear a good rant, just drop by his shop and ask him.

We should consider ourselves lucky! We do at least have the Adam West Batman movie on DVD! But I agree, the series SHOULD be released onto DVD. All the parties involved should consider the fanbase end of it instead of just the money aspect of it! Maybe then we might get more DVDs and models released that way! Whatever happened to "Give the people what they want"?

To hell with the fanbase, the virtual goldmine at their fingertips should be more than enough motivation to work things out. The bottom line is most definitely there.

I just watched the DVD " Holy Batmania". Very fun. The bios on Adam, Julie Newmar and Ceaser Romero were very good. My kids even got into it! They asked If I had any on tape to watch. I WISHED I TAPED THEM FROM TV LAND!!!I need to check out upcomming car shows in NJ and Phila to see if any will showcase the 66 and hopefully 89 Batmobiles!!!!

No Batmobiles but we got George Barris in town for three days next weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) at the World of Wheels car show.

Coincidentally, I saw the original Batmobile (or, perhaps, the "roadshow" version) at the old Winnipeg Arena in 1967...and they just blew up the arena this morning. Well, they tried to blow it up. There was an enormous concussion and a cloud of dust but the building is still there.

Someone didn't do their homework. Usually those kinds of things are planned very well to minimize the damage to neighboring areas, and to minimize the use of materials needed to bring the edifices down. More attempts equals more money down the drain!

Ertl made the same mistake. They jumped the gun and had advertised last year a 1:18 scale diecast release of the TV Batmobile and the Green Hornet Black Beauty. Neither car made it. The media reported that the reason for the hold up on the Black Beauty is due to a studio buying up the rights to the show and stopped the release due to a re-make and upcoming release of the new movie......which we still have nto heard hide nor hair about since it's casting..

Not having time to assemble everything I'd like to. I would welcome these cars being released in that scale which offers a lot of details if they are anything as good as the rest of my collection.

UHOh! Didn't want for this to turn into A Batmobile thread. I know the subject has been beat to death. Having said that though, MAN I WOULD LOVE A 1/18 66 BATMOBILE!!!As I am sure you guys know their are several Fan made kits out on the market(Although I don't know of a 1/18 version). I have a 1/24 Kit I made a year or so ago. Got it from T Moe. Very accurate from what I can tell. When I get a chance I 'll post some pics.

No kidding. Any disagreements should've been put aside just with the thought of raking in $$$. Maybe they're haggling over tenths of a percent share...

Though as a former co-worker said when we heard the former CEO was being investigated over questionable tax shelters: "Really, how much is enough?"

You're right little chum, what was I thinking?Didn't Batman call Robin "old chum" in the TV show? Maybe you're mixing up Batman with Gilligan's Island, little buddy!

Hmmm. . ."Batman and Robin on Gilligan's Island". . .

Q: How many caped crusaders does it take to change a light-bulb?

A: None. They like the dark.

Q: What position did Bruce Wayne play on his little-league team?

A: He was the bat-boy.

Q: How does Batman's mother call him to dinner?

A: (tune of 1960's theme) Dinner Dinner Dinner Dinner Batman!!!

Q: Why did Bruce's date go badly?

A: Because he has BAT breath!

Q: What does Batgirl wear to bed?

A: Her Dark Knight gown!

Q: What did Batman say to Robin before they got in the Batmobile?

A: Get in the Batmobile Robin!

Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn decide to go rob a bank.

"Now, remember the plan," Ivy tells Harley.

"Yeah, yeah, no problem!" She says, and walks into the bank. Ivy waits in the getaway car.
Time passes. Five minutes...ten...Ivy starts getting worried...fifteen...
Suddenly Harley comes rushing out of the bank, dragging a safe behind her all tied up in rope. Behing her, the guard comes running out...with his pants down!

Ivy groans. "Harley, you idiot! I said to tie up the guard and blow the safe! NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!"

There is a big room with four corners. In the first corner, you find Superman. In the second corner you find Batman. In the third corner you find Spiderman. And in the fourth corner you find a gorgeous, extremely intelligent, 100% natural blonde woman with a ultra-thin magazine-model figure. In the center of the room there is a pot of gold. Who gets to the pot of gold first?

A: None, because none of these characters exist.

One night, after a long evening of drinking, Jim was thrown out of the bar as usual. On his way home he spotted a nun walking down the road.

After looking at her twice he ran over and tackled her, then proceeded to beat the living daylights out of her.

Some people passing by spotted this and called the police.

As the police were pulling him away in handcuffs he looked back and said, "I thought you'd be tougher than that, Batman."

Batman and Robin are camping in the desert, set up their tent and are asleep. Some hours later, Batman wakes his faithful friend. "Robin, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."

Robin replies, " I see millions of stars."

"What does that tell you?" asks Batman.

Robin ponders for a minute.

"Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.

Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo.

Chronologically, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three.

Theologically, it's evident the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant.

Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.

What does it tell you, Batman?"

Batman is silent for a moment, then speaks: " Robin, you idiot, someone has stolen our tent."

The answer is "Cock Robin."

The question is — well, I'm sure you all know that one.
