Not just yet, no.
But soon.
Toy Shop readers know part of it.

Log in? I don't think you need to, do you? I don't have a log in, and I can see it. Look at the pop up that loads when you go to the link.

Ah, that's why! The wife has the pop up blocker on!

Ah, but that's not the change I was referring to. That's just a change that's ancillary to the real change.

Firefox...never a pop-up. I guess I'll have to wait. BTW, look under the seat cushions!

Brent Gair

I block all pop-ups too.

I can't believe that site actually condones the use of pop-ups. They are the equivalent of online junk mail and an insult to users.

Once I know a site uses them, I never visit the site again.

A Taylor

Brent,
The website doesn't condone the use of pop-ups for advertisers; this is a preview of the new Toyshop format, presented in the way their webmaster thought best. It's content, not annoying spam.
Not the way I would have presented it, though.

Well yes, there's that, but...
The Assembly Line itself will be changing.

King,
If you want to get your products into Toy Shop, send samples to Tom Bartsch at:
Toy Shop Magazine
700 E. State St., Iola, WI 54990 USA
I do not review battleships and that sort of product, so contacting me is the wrong venue.
Thanks.

So you gonna do like Cult and blow this popsicle stand?

Toyshop will have it's own forums as well?

I didn't say you were wrong; I said I'm the wrong person to review that kind of product. Tom will make sure the right people get it. I'm just a freelancer for the magazine, he's the editor.
Thanks,

Nope, I like the popsicles here, too.
Toy Shop won't be having it's own forums to my knowledge, though they certainly should think about doing that.

The change I refer to is in the scope of my column.
And the name.

A Taylor

Yes, all these and more!
Besides the Swedish beauties, the scope of the column will be expanding to cover more than just models - and the name will change.

If this means you're also covering sci-fi toys, that's a great idea. Get those damn toy threads out of the modeling boards.

and the name will change.
But of course. Toys don't really require assembly. Well, some assemby may be required, sometimes.

Have you seen the new (and old) Corgi Captain Scarlet die-casts? They come in single vehicles and double packs of old and new series.

Darn you, James James! Once again, you've foiled my evil plot!
Yes, all you have said is correct. Not just toys, but high end collectibles and prop replicas, as well.
And the Captain Scarlet Corgis are all available for pre-order from FAB Gear. Just click the link below.

Change occurs sometime after midnight tonight, or early A.M. tomorrow.
The new name of this forum will be RETRO ROCKETS - Sci Fi Collectibles.
Yes, kit and model talk is still allowed, but all types of collectibles including prop replicas, art, die casts, action figures, etc., are now encouraged.

That's it? A name change?

At least when Steve makes a change, he changes everything! And haven't I heard the name Retro Rockets before?

I was looking for purple with dark blue lettering and a whole slew of new emoticons.

Not just a name change, an entire paradigm change!
And many thanks to Steve Iverson for his gracious encouragement to use the name Retro Rockets.
