I just purchased a beefy products Sk car. Just looking for ideas of what people are doing and what results your getting with changes to the car. Example: the center tube? What may the differences be with different types of tubing, different legths? Dampner tube, what do you put inside it for lube? if any. front springs? Do you keep old skool front end or change to newer style? What type of track are you running on? ETC.ETC.ETC....

Here's my deal: Banked oval track(K&N) changed front end to ass. dynamic frontend. ran ass Springs but want to change that to beefy springs. replace t-plate with Med Spring steal plate With tweak screws. Cut about 1/4 inch off center tube and placed it in number of locations threw out the day. this is a issue i have. also used BRP lube in the dampner tube. With this starting set-up car handle ok, but wasn't handling 100% mainly out of the corners. Lots of work to do yet.

If your going to make all those changes why didn't you just buy a pan car ?

Not trying to bust ya , just curious as to the rules for that division where you race.

we ran our sk cars sat night box stock. 21t spec motor and 30/120 gear. 200mah batteries. Blue fronts and green rears. We run a 140' race line flat track. Our best laps were 4.64 sec. I ran no compound after the first time. I brought both tweak screws doen to just touching chassis and went a 1/2 turn more on the right side to add wedge. It is probably a lot different power wise(slower) than what you are running. Our club chose to keep it spec all the way.

NCFRC:Rules? Stock motor! That's about it. This has been the issue with SK cars for awhile there are no writen guide lines for rules at the track i race at. I bet if the race director were to issue a BOX STOCK rule for SK's people wouldn't race them at our track. I would rather something like that rather than dealing with "who ever has the better equiptment is in the front" CRAP!

Whats this "front end to ass." statement? LOL Nice Mike NICE!

Hey talk to Dave (DBA) He wants to come down to K&N soon & run so you might be able to chat with him... a bit and get him down sooner rather than later, LOL. Maybe he can give you his 0.02cents while he's visiting...

At our track we introduced the sk mod SPEC class just as it was going to be, SPEC, So if people were thinking about running the class they knew what was going on from the get go. Spec motor, Spec battery, Spec tire = Great Racing, Great show sat. to the boys at North Haverhill Rc Speedway

Nick said the cars must be box stock for the neot... not sure if you were a part of that or not.

The mix was good. A t-plate car took down the top 2 spots.

The 2 cars were close. Paul had his yellow chassis going pretty good.

Roadking- I think there were 3 or 4 t-plate cars in the A main. 3 of us were running a chassis with a wider front end similiar to the yellow chassis. I'll be testing my car on flat track soon. The yellow chassis had a distinct advantage on flat track with the wider front end. I am not sure if Jimmy will be producing this chassis or not.

There was a special chassis used for that race?

Yes there was a special chassis being used by some drivers. But I believe Bud from Swanse who came in second was using the original chassis. They run weekly on a flat track. It just goes to show you that a good driver and set up guy can make whatever car they drive go well on any kind of track. Just an observation.

P.S. The new chassis is a pro version and not a spec version. It will be available soon.

There was some excellent driving in the s/k class. I had a great battle with bud, unfourtunately you can only race so close with open wheeled cars. Had a great time racing with evryone, and I look forward to the next NEOT race.

I ran the front end wide on both sides. I don't think it would be beneficial to run it offset at K/N.
