If I glued a fly to a Hot Wheel, could I catch the faster fish?

 Fisherman don't take kindly to jokes like that!! Just kidin', though you might catch a fish, if the car was bright colored, and if you were saltwater fishing. Shoot, if it works, you could call it the "Fast Fly". :dude:

I thought 'mebbe the car would chase the fish down, givin' me the edge with the blown big block car chasin' it. :)
Jus' messin' with ya a little. :) Welcome aboard. :dude:

Welcome to HobbyTalk Hancho. Be careful, this place is addicting!

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is an "elder statesman"(I'm young and dumb)? Once you get to 500 posts, you automatically turn into an elderstatesman. There are guys here that have been here for years that never made it to that status and there are a few that have been here for a few months that graduate to "elderstatesmen"

Cool. My daughter is close to the same age. Born Sept. 22. She is the one and probably the only. :D Man, she is a handfull!

thanks centerstock!Oh, And my name ain't "Hancho", It's hanoch. Or better yet, jay.I noticed after I typed that I had typed it wrong. Darn dyslexia! And the name is CenterShock :D I also answer to Nick. I personally collect 99% Johnny Lightning.

As far as moderators go, you can see who moderates each board by looking at the bottom right of the thread list pages.

Each room has different moderators.

And as far as your WL advise, you need to figure out the stocking patterns of the stores you shop at and be there at the same time they stock. I have a 8-5 job so I am not fortunate enough to get out there and score lots of WL's. I personally found less than 10 WL's in the wild. Probably closer to 5. I have had more luck fetting them from OLD's (on lin dealers) See list on right of this page for a few.
Another hint in finding WL's is knowing what to look for. A good place to learn about that is http://www.lightninglane.com

Go into the series you are looking for (blue copy on left) and it will tell you the WL traits and possibly a pic if available.

Check out the trade boards. You can find some decent deals there as well.

Good luck and happy hunting.

OOps!! I think I should keep my mouth shut abuot other people's spelling, when myown is very flawed! thanks for the info. one last question. After 5000 posts, you become a moderator right? and do you get any extra privilages each time you status upgrades?

one last question. After 5000 posts, you become a moderator right? and do you get any extra privilages each time you status upgrades? That part I am not sure of. You can PM (private message) one of the current moderators or Hankster (he is the head honcho) and he can probably help you out with the question about moderator.

I paid $50.00 to be a "Lifetime Member" that allows me more privilages than others. There are lesser memberships that also allow more privelages. For instance, I just changed my status to "Lifetime Member" to "Self-Appointed BWF..." I can also use my own personal avatars. Another thing paying members can do is go "invisible" where folks won't see you in a room or thread. There are other advantages also. Click on the Donation/Hobby Talk Supporter button above. I think it has a comparisson of extra privelages listed there.
