I've seen some guys using a kitchen digital hand temp with a probe for continuous monitoring.

You can find a good Rayek IR gun on Ebay for about $50 to $60 some of the higher end ones wil be $100 to $190. Some of the cheaper ones don't work as well. Raytek makes industrial quality.

I do a/c work, if you have a a/c supply house near you they sell them. 1 to 2 deg. variance at ten feet away.we use them to get line temps overhead. any where from 60 to 110 bucks . most have lasers built in.

Get a temp sensor for a gas car (Venom makes one). It comes with a thermo-couple loop that you wrap around the head of a nitro motor. Wrap it around your batteries. It has a slide-loop to tighten it up.

It will give you current temp at all times, and max temp at the push of a button.

Accuracy depends on how completely the thermo-couple loop is in contact with the battery (or nitro head).

They run about $20 and any LHS with nitro stuff should have them. If not, Tower.

I was thinkin of going with that, I have found self adhesive k type surface probes cheap that would stick to battery and I could just keep taping them on. I also found a temp monitor for 29.99 that accepts many different types of probes. Thanks Mike
