Hello,

I have a question about an Aurora Model Motoring Lincoln Continental slot car. I purchased it from someone and they told me it was an original from the 1960's. When I sold it, however, the person received it and told me it was a reproduction made in the 1990's. I did not know and gladly gave him a full refund plus money to send the car back.

My question is though, how much is a reproduction of this car worth? It is mint and has the clear Model Motoring case, foam inserts, and cardboard insert. Any help would be much appreciated as I do not know too much about slot cars. Thanks again!

does it have chrome bumpers and the spare wheel on the back, or are they molded in? and do you have a picture of it?

Yes, it does have chrome bumpers and the spare wheel on the back. I have included a picture of what it looks like.

road race replicas does a pretty good resin copy. I think he charges 25-28.00 for one. no chassis, no box, you cut off all the flashing and assemble yourself.

If you go to this page:

http://www.ho-slotcars.com/

then click the "Car Bodies" link to the left
then scroll down to model #1369
you can actually click the 1369-K number and see the one he sells. The one in the pic is turquoise, but he has all different colors. His kits are $25.

If yours was a replica made in the 1990s, there's a good chance it was made by this guy.

if it was made by road race replicas, he grinds in a little "rrr" under the body somewhere. unless someone tried to sand it out, but there would be evidence of that too.

Didn't American Line make one of these, along with a Vette and a T-bird?
