Closest city is Coldwater. About 7 miles away. There are a number of hotels there.

So what's this crap of "If qualifying is done by 4:00 pm then mains for ALL participants"? You mean to tell me if you don't have the qualifying done by 4:00 not every one is going to have a main? If I drove all that way and spent my hard earned cash....there had better be mains...FOR EVERYBODY. I was thinking of running this series this year.......not now!

settle down...... if the 3rd round doesn't start by 4 PM then there will be no 3rd round of qualifing, they will go right into the mains....

It is generally a loomy black dirt type track. Most everyone runs step pin rears and edge fronts. In rare occasions, if the track really dries out you can try a "mini pin" type tire but at that time of the year the track seldom dries out that much.

Coldwater has a few different hotels. You could also stay in Hillsdale, that has a Days Inn. Hillsdale is actually closer than Coldwater(although Coldwater is a bigger town, and has easier access off of I-69)

Whats with the rule changes??? After the MARS meeting, Nick posts that brushless are allowed in the modified classes, and for 18th scale, we can use any battery. Now I see that brushless are not allowed in the mod classes, and 18th scale is limited to 6 cells.

southsiderc13

brushless in mod was allowed last year, and this year to!!!!!,

Brushless was allowed last year in mod clesses, but the flyer says no brushless.
I will call Kenney tomorrow and get the reasoning for this and maybe clarify a couple other items that are being twisted.

that is a old flyer! dont sweat the dumb sh## it even has the old non existint web site. brushless is allowed. if you need to know whats allowed, pick up a ROAR book, they follow that

hankster
03-16-2006, 02:00 PM
Thats IS the new flyer they sent me... notice it says 2006 across the top and includes the 18th scale class. While they do generally follow ROAR rules there is no requirement that the classes that are run conform to any ROAR class spec.

**** Note *****

Brushless is LEGAL in all MARS modified classes as per the ROAR Rule book.

I have contacted both Bruce and Ken. Ken has asked I post this notice that there was a error in the posted flyer and new ones will be sent out.

Hank, Ken will be sending you an update.

Wow, the officials make a simple mistake and you guys just unload on them before they can even make things right. Nice. And everyone wonders why there's so much tension between the officials and racers. It is a two way street guys. Maybe we could try being civilized and working things out before we just go off.

There have been huge changes on MARS over the last couple of years. It's far from perfect but things won't change if the racers don't talk to the officials at the races (like adults) and actually drop suggestions in the box at the banquet.

Does anyone know if only the Novak 5800 brushless will be allowed like
last year ? or is it any Roar Legal Brushless system.

FishRC
04-10-2006, 09:53 AM
All ROAR legal brushless are allowed. So all the Novak systems, as well as the LRP/Reedy system. I'm not sure if any other systems conform to the ROAR spec.

Stock Buggy - Try A 22 Tooth Pinion To Start.... Step Pins All The Way, Most People Use Proline But I Like The Losi Ones. Use The Stock Spring Setup..... Pink Rear Springs And Green Fronts. If That Doesnt Work Then Get A B4. I Did

I was thinking of 125. My daughter won the car last year at the lansing mars race. It has been raced twice at laporte IN. and practiced with very little. I have some extra tires, trinity front pivot block, motor plate, and some other little stuff. I like losi cars and the racing just wasn't her thing.
