View Full Version : Spring Sizzler at K&N - NEW DATE
Danielle 03-14-2006, 06:43 PM It was brought to our attention (thank you Charlie) that the main race track outside is having their Spring Sizzler on the planned date for K&N's sizzler which was April 30th. Chads contract requires him to be closed for that (and we all know there is no parking) so we have MOVED the Spring Sizzler to Saturday May 13th, 2006. More info will follow just wanted to get the word out now.
Any questions let us know!
Contact the website at www.knrcspeedway.com or Chad Sewell at (860) 508-3815...or myself!
Hope to see you all there.

jmracing 03-14-2006, 07:29 PM here we go again
Danielle 03-14-2006, 07:36 PM This sucks!
Danielle 03-14-2006, 07:39 PM Okay then...so help us out do we just not have one? Any thoughts on dates that would work. I didnt realize Nick wasnt posting his dates on Hobby Talk I checked the calendar and there was NOTHING on that date. If I have to check 10 sites to pick a date this is never going to work. Whats the best advice?
oldtimer 03-14-2006, 07:48 PM sorry head still not in good shape
Danielle 03-14-2006, 08:06 PM Okay I changed it AGAIN - Hows the 14th work for everyone?????
jmracing 03-14-2006, 08:59 PM i think their running 18T dirt buggies that weekend in the southwest region of the United States(LOL) :p but that shouldnt effect the 14th
Danielle 03-14-2006, 09:08 PM John - you are too much. Now is not the time Im a time bomb ready to explode....No seriously I am expecting a ton of people to come forward with jokes now that this happened many times LOL
All in good humor.... maybe we can take a road trip there to take part in the dirt buggies...LOL
oldtimer 03-14-2006, 10:40 PM john step away from the computer befor she blows
TEAMHAWHAW 03-14-2006, 11:52 PM This is so hard. I had the date set... but then the Speedway took over. I cant be open during that weekend. It sucks... So now we have to go with the 14th.
Chad

NHRCRACER 03-15-2006, 09:45 AM I'll be there on the 14th. It's as good a day as any to me.
Danielle 03-15-2006, 10:18 AM I wish (and I know Chad does too) that we could pick the perfect date for everyone. Its really hard fitting into a busy schedule (not ours but everyones).
Chad and I have talked about having 1 big race per month; trophy/prize/etc. So the opportunity exsists for people to make many of those once those dates and events are planned. Any suggestions?????
Keep us posted! Thanks!
MIKE VALENTINE 03-15-2006, 11:13 AM The 14th isn't good for me, I'm having my nails done that day!!
RCRacer00 03-15-2006, 11:59 AM I'll be there, Doesn't matter the date or what else may be going on. K&N needs the support , I will support K&N..........See you at the races.
Danielle 03-15-2006, 12:24 PM Mike (Valentine)your nails...I can do them there. I will give you a good deal. I told Chad at the Winterblast (because we had just came back from the Bahamas) that I wanted him to reserve me a "hair braiding booth"...LOL
Dont forget your big ol banner......that way people will know if they want their nails done I will be at your pit spot doing them...lol
Serioiusly that sign was pretty cool.....you have to bring it from now on...
Mike (Gordon) we know you will always be there to support K&N and help out...youve been a great friend & HUGE help. Thank you (and you too Kim)...
rickster58 03-15-2006, 12:28 PM I won't miss that one either.
Danielle 03-15-2006, 12:30 PM Thank you Rick..... always showing your support! Sandy wont miss it either (as long as I have his candy)LOL
I want to look into me cooking there for upcoming events. Previously the lease said we couldnt cook when the downstairs was open, well now that (sadly) the cook passed away...they are never open; so I told Chad to ask the owners if I could bring in a stove and start some HOME COOKIN! Or even other things like a hot dog machine/whatever.... you all know I love to eat...so anyway to bring more food in there would be a benefit for me.LOL
bud3738 03-15-2006, 02:18 PM wow.....A girl who cooks and likes R/C cars......Chad where did you find this gem.....heheheheheh
Brad Sousa 03-15-2006, 02:27 PM what they don't know won't hurt them. gotta have some food a day of rcracing with no food uhoh i gotta eat or i'm 2 laps slower when i'm on the track. but when i do eat i'm 2 laps slower to get your car if i'm corner marshaling. Brad
Danielle 03-15-2006, 02:50 PM I am trying to find a way to bring up some hot food; or at least home cooking because Im sick of the fast food crap around there (I dont know about most of you)....
Chad always told me I couldnt bring up food or make food there because of the "kitchen downstairs" well I havent seen that open since Winterblast and like I said; they experienced a loss which I am sorry for; however, it appears they do not plan to keep up with the old hours; thus I think our request might be considered.
The snacks only go so far; chips go straight to the hips, candy is twice that bad and I think we would all prefer a better meal rather than the crap LOL
I will see what i can do.....
Oh and I like RC cars; but NOT NEARLY as much as I LOVE TO FISH! I have about 7k in fishing stuff (easy).... I love fishing...... LOVE IT! Thats where I normally hear the "where did you come from" because not only do I just love it - I actually "CATCH" not just "fish".... anyone up to getting their lines wet this spring? Chad and I have a pond in our backyard ....or I am up to any fishing trip..Name the day/time/place!
Tranny Car Man. 03-15-2006, 04:40 PM Hey,is a radio control thread or a fishinn thread????????.Dont get me started on fishinn,I got the best spot in Maine for real fishing,(Cold water fish,no bass)nuff said.
T.C.R.
Danielle 03-15-2006, 04:44 PM I started out with an X- he was into Bass fishing I just wanted to try the sport as I had been told I wouldnt be good at it. I was in a stream in Stafford and caught 3 large mouths (he caught none) for me I dont care what Im catching, last year I caught the record in Kenney Cove (a part of the CT River in Glastonbury on the East Hartford Line) a 37inch Pike!
In our back yard; I will have to show you pictures Sandy, I usually get over 20 large mouth a day! In the spring that is, with some occasional pike/pickerel, and sun fish. I enjoy trout fishing too; only problem is they are harder to throw back, generally you hook 'em so well; theyre going to die anyways and I dont keep my fish; I throw back..unless Im with someone who wants it.
My biggest bass was the just about 6lb'er in my backyard last year. I got up in my PJs and went out to feed the ducks; I though I would try one cast and boom - I caught him. The picture is funny to look at being that you see my hot pink satan PJ's in the backround...LOL
Okay you would have me going all day on this subject! I better stop now, LOL
Danielle 03-15-2006, 04:50 PM Sandy you have a PM, youre making me hungry talking about the grill for the track - yummy burgers/dogs/etc...yummy
The Captain 03-16-2006, 07:40 AM danielle, back when nick and karen were there. They had hotdogs, burgers, buritos, and other things. It was all microwave food. I sure there are other things that you could cook. It's got to be better then candy and chips. Just though I let you know. Does it say in the lease that you can't have food upstairs? Like brad said what they don't know won't hurt.
See you guys tomorrow night.
Keith
RacingWidow00 03-16-2006, 11:22 AM How about Crock Pots? I have 2 I would gladly fill up and bring with me to the track...Stew, Chicken Wings, Chili (without the beans - LOL!), Bread Bowls...yummy!!
And Hey, I'm a girl, I like RC Cars and I can cook (sorry don't fish, but I love to go camping! does that count?)...we really aren't that hard to find! LOL!
Danielle 03-16-2006, 11:37 AM Keith (and all) the lease from what Chad tells me - says he cannot cook/prepare/sell FOOD because of the kitchen downstairs. WHat my thoughts were "what about when its not open". I can respect he's in agreement with the place, and he doesnt want to cause problems but since their loss in December (its a family that runs it, the cook was the father who passed away) Ive only seen it open 3 times.
I get guilt trips, dirty looks (lol) if I dont offer to runout and get food for people - and its hard for me being all fat and prego LOL - so I cant understand why I couldnt bring up a grill for the upstairs exit - or even like a hot dog machine/nacho machine/etc etc. I realize brining in a whole stove is drastic but I would even do that, because I could make homemade meatballs for grinders/etc. Baked Ziti, CHILLI!!! Whatever!
I dont know why its such a big deal I mean even if we sold foods at the same time would it really kill their sales downstairs?
Hey Kim Ive never been camping! Ive been dying to go even if its just in the backyard; so I guess we will have to plan a trip next summer...this summer maybe - depends on how LARGE I get, LOL.
Danielle 03-16-2006, 11:47 AM Hey JKR - where are you from?
Danielle 03-16-2006, 11:49 AM PA?
Are you going to make it to the NEOT or the Sizzler?
bud3738 03-16-2006, 11:52 AM wife said If I go racing May 14th..(mothers day) i will have to find another home.....dont know what that means....Kinda like my new house..........See you guys this sunday......
Danielle 03-16-2006, 11:54 AM Come on - SERIOUSLY its mothers day! %$^&!!!!!!! Thats totally our luck! I will talk to Chad and see what he wants to do...... thanks for the heads up...
Danielle 03-16-2006, 12:11 PM Guess we will have to have a fathers day race too!
Danielle 03-16-2006, 04:55 PM How about if we started the races later in the day to allow for brunch with the Moms and wifes?
Or should we move it to the saturday before? Im not up to moving this dang date again..unless the overall opinion says we should....talk to me people!
Tranny Car Man. 03-16-2006, 04:58 PM I think your between a rock and a hard place!!!!!,Damded if yah do and Damned if yah dont, you got the idea what im sayinn?????????.
T.C.M.
Danielle 03-16-2006, 10:11 PM So let me pose the question - if we move the race to Saturday (the 13th) would enough of you be able to make it????? Seriously - talk to me people so we can plan asap.
bud3738 03-17-2006, 08:49 AM Saturday racing is always better for me.......Please do not move this race because of my 1 post..........I would take a poll this Sunday amongst the guys and decide....I just didnt know if anyone realized it was "Moms Day".......I hope Sunday is a good turnout for you guys......Hope the stuff I asked chad to order came in.....See you there.......
Mayhem 03-17-2006, 01:06 PM Racing on mothers day certainly wont help attendance. I could make the Sat before no problem as I'm sure many others would also so they could go see MOM.
rickster58 03-17-2006, 01:14 PM Saturday is good for me.
ovalrc 03-17-2006, 01:50 PM I'm out for any Saturday after April 15, our track runs every Saturday night, unless it rains, then I'll be there.
bud3738 03-17-2006, 04:07 PM I would say take a poll Sunday.......this is probably your best bet.......
Tranny Car Man. 03-19-2006, 10:31 PM  Was there a poll taken today for the date of the Spring Sizzler, and how many track records were broken today?????.Looked like a positive croud today at the NEOT.Must be the good overhaul job Danielle and Chad are doing!!!!!!.Charlie looked fast in his SK,dont know results but im anxious to know.
Danielle 03-20-2006, 12:34 PM Okay heres my questions and like I said I plan to make a poll; but let me pose this....the Saturday race is fine with me, but maybe in the evening? My question is - DOESNT Chris/Enfield have races then? Do you guys really think we can pull in the people?
My thoughts were (and I have shared this with some of you) if we do Saturday many who travel may appreciate it more, because they can either stay for Sunday as well or head back and have that day to rest rather then rush home late at night. Im going to poll it - but Im really hoping we can get 54 or MORE like we had yesterday that was AWESOME!
I had a great time! Thank you everyone..... TRULY!
Now get to the poll and take it - I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP EVERYONE!
Danielle
Danielle 03-20-2006, 01:02 PM For Right Now Until The Poll Is Complete We Wont Know The Exact Date.....bare With Us Everyone!!!!!!
Mayhem 03-20-2006, 06:49 PM Where is the poll? I wont be able to race if its on Mothers day, I dont think My MOM would appreciate it too much if I tell her I am going racing instead of stopping by to see her.
Madness has no problem pulling in 50+ racers on a Sat night, makes no difference to me day or night but I would think Sunday would be financial suicide for the track.
scott law 03-20-2006, 07:14 PM Run it on the Saturday night of the Mini T nationals. No conflicts and cool indoor track temps = Track Records

TEAMHAWHAW 03-20-2006, 07:44 PM Bob - the poll is under Oval Race Events - POLL FOR K&N SPRING SIZZLER.... I appreciate you taking it and giving us your thoughts!
