Tornado_Racing 03-08-2006, 08:25 AM Just to let you guys know, Eric Anderson of EA Motorsports will be making a rare oval racing appearance at the 2006 ROAR Carpet Oval Nats at Sandhills Raceway. This will be the final race on the famous high banks and "YES" EA will be racing 4-cell Mod with a Hyperdrive PRO3 4-cell Solid Car.

Racin Jason 03-12-2006, 12:45 AM I'm looking for some help on the set up of my hyperdrive slider 700. I race in pittsburgh at Steel City Hobbies. We have a flat track with a 165 foot run line, and ozite carpet. Just can't find a happy medium. Eithier to loose or to tight. Any input would be greatly appreciated. My e mail address is n busch1222@yahoo.com
Question, On flat asphalt. Left front locater in middle position and right front locater in inside position. what action and reaction can I expect in, through and out of the turn? 0700 chassis
Question,On banked concrete Left upper arm lengthened by spacing out the upper suspension arm mount. Do I help free the car up in the turn with this and whats the down side? Pro-2 chassis
Also same scenario for flat asphalt.
Thanks in advance
"Frank Ulbrik" 03-12-2006, 06:02 AM Pro3 Solid TQ's at akron first time out against a stout field, 67 laps! & their was alot more left in her.
Humpty 03-12-2006, 09:35 AM Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttt tttttttttttttt...You are the man Frankie.......SeeYA at Sandhills .....
Fl Flash 03-12-2006, 09:46 AM Wade, I,m hoping someone who knows will answer your questions :) my last two outtings were Disasters LOL dang carpet and foam is killin me  going fishing next Sat.
I do know that a longer upper a-frame will lessen the amount of camber gain/lose thru out the wheel travel.
I know the longer a-arm will help with camber (I think) But what else is it doing. I'm running 0 degree caster on the left side with the longer arm. What I see is this makes the left side wheel-to-wheel chassis length longer then the right side. Whats the action, re-action to that ?
waiting on one of the fast Hyper-Team guys to enlighten me http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/images/icons/icon7.gif
Racin'Jason 8 03-12-2006, 10:28 AM Pro 3 solid wins March madness in Connecticut last night. Love this car!
"Frank Ulbrik" 03-12-2006, 12:51 PM Hey Wade, im not sure ya wanna space your a-arms out like that, I don't think there's any advantage to it... I would suggest leaving your front end the way it's supposed to be built in the asc kit, but with the HD caster blocks. Also by moving your right front in will free the car up, moving it out will make it tighter, and moving your left front out will free ya up & moving it in will make ya tight. It's best to start with them both in the the center & go from there. Hope that helps.
hacksaw 03-12-2006, 12:55 PM Hey Frank way to lay the smack down on them boys!!!!!!!You going to come down and run some cap tire racing with us this summer!!!!!!!Hacksaw
"Frank Ulbrik" 03-12-2006, 12:56 PM I'm running 0 degree caster on the left side with the longer arm. What I see is this makes the left side wheel-to-wheel chassis length longer then the right side. Whats the action, re-action to that ?
Wade, running less caster on your LF than your RF will lead in with the left front tire & make the car turn in a lil more aggressive.
Hey Hacksaw, Im gonna try make it to a few cap tire races this summer. I haven't raced caps since like 98, so it might take a minute to get back up to speed. When's the first big race everyone is going to?
saw the longer arm on Barry's car a while back can't remember why he told me he did it ?
"Frank Ulbrik" 03-12-2006, 03:19 PM Maybe a cap tire thing that I don't know about??? Someone else will have to comment about that.
Thanks Frank I appreciate your comments and help!!!
Raymon 03-12-2006, 06:21 PM Thanks guys for your help, I raced last night at The RC Shack and I was 5 laps faster than the field in stock, I roached my esc and bumped up form the D main to the A main. The car is so easy to dirve and super fast! You got me sold on this car. :dude:
"Frank Ulbrik" 03-12-2006, 07:46 PM 5 laps..........thats crazy, Im done helping this guy!!! lol... j/k. Glad ya like the car, the Pro3 is BAD!

When you lengthen the upper arm it kinda does the same thing as raising the upper arm up. It keeps the camber the same through suspension compression and gives you more steering center off. It doesnt take much to make a difference either.
