Okay first let me tell you a little about myself.
I currently run two offroad dirt tracks and I have just recently received an oval car. I tried it out on a concrete oval track this past week and enjoyed it greatly.

So I was thinking of adding a dirt oval track. Before I do I would like some tips to making the best dirt track I can. I currently use red clay on the offroad tracks and plan on using the same for the oval track.

Any tips on building and upkeep would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

im not sure about red clay but the stuff we have in upstate ny is heavy and not to easy to work with. alot of rototilling and then more tilling and so on. we then used a riding mower and a york rake and started doing laps filling in low spots as we went. after a good couple of hours of getting fairly smooth we then used a roller and more laps. after the roller we made a nail board with the nails about 1/2 to 3/4 through, a couple of rows. did more laps and rolled it again and it came out really smooth. good luck
