DEI.2 03-07-2006, 08:06 PM Hey George, on the track website it says there is a race march 11. I didn't think there was going to be a race because of Stricklands??????

irvan36mm 03-08-2006, 09:01 AM Hey George, on the track website it says there is a race march 11. I didn't think there was going to be a race because of Stricklands??????I'm still figuring out if I'm going or not. If not,I'll be racing here on the 11th (non-points)

David Butts 03-08-2006, 05:47 PM Same here, Hi Mr. Butts
Right back atcha Mr. Kippers.
Hey George, When can we expect the website to be updated?
rcgen 03-08-2006, 09:39 PM News flash. 4300 brushless class grows to 7 cars from the original 3 and the track will never be the same. Ernie Bucci throws down some 6.4's and runs 37 laps in the main. There aint no stock motors gonna run those numbers boys. It looks like the brushless racing is here to stay, Now who's brave enough to throw in a 5.5 or dare to try a 4.5 from Novak? As always It takes three to make a class.
I took this from the older thread :p I am game....I think I'll need to switch out the 100 spur for a larger one. Might try it at Strickland's
rcgen 03-08-2006, 09:42 PM Any of you HW brushless guys planning on running brushless at Strickland's?
shrabber 03-08-2006, 10:27 PM If I had her yes but im in limbo waiting.
DEI.2 03-08-2006, 10:35 PM Any of you HW brushless guys planning on running brushless at Strickland's?
I don't think we'll be making the trip.
Echeconnee 03-09-2006, 08:44 AM I still have one 4300 system left, 175 shipped
irvan36mm 03-09-2006, 08:54 AM Hey George, When can we expect the website to be updated?Whenever I can remember to get my slack-a$$ up to HW to download the scores from the laptop. I'll do it today, since I need to go there anyways.

New92 03-09-2006, 01:45 PM Everyone going to Stricklands this weekend or is anyone going to be up at HW practicing or running? I want to go check out the layout (looking at the laptimes its changed since I was last there) but dont want to drive up there for 10 minutes and then drive back lol. Would make the drive more worth it to get some BS'ing done while I am there lol.
4sureracing 03-09-2006, 04:24 PM hopefuly one day i can my slack arse up there and race with you guys one day before i leave to back home
David Butts 03-09-2006, 04:50 PM All slack arse's are welcomed anytime.
David Butts 03-09-2006, 04:58 PM Hey everyone,Notice in this picture of the MTR track down in Bradenton, See the yellow line around the pipe? Thats kinda what I (and others)proposed for our track only on a much larger scale. With that kind of painted border you can see you're getting close to the pipe before actually hitting it and spinning or shooting back across the track. Since our track is so large the border would have to be about 24 inches wide so that means the pipes would be pulled in two feet from where they are now. The two foot margin would allow a car to be nosed into the pipe without sticking out into the racing line lessening the chance of a very brutal and costly T-bone. Watchathinkaboutthat?

Fl Flash 03-09-2006, 05:11 PM Any of you HW brushless guys planning on running brushless at Strickland's?
I would but my Brushless system is currently sitting in the warranty dept at Novak :(
4sureracing 03-09-2006, 05:29 PM i like the idea there Mr. Butts (tm). but right now im for a chance to go racing, period.

If your car gets down into the yellow it spins out right? If so I like it. I think this would help keep the cars from not hittng the pipe and be a little kinder to the cars.
David Butts 03-09-2006, 07:16 PM Actually Steve, It depends on the way the car gets onto the paint. If its just a gradual two tires, The car will tend to drift back into the line. If you go in at a sharp angle the car may spin but you would have nailed the PVC otherwise. I think this would be a big improvement to an otherwise awesome place to race.
Now about the painted roadcourse?
katf1sh 03-09-2006, 07:31 PM sooooo ernie went 37 laps with a 4300 motor? was this with the performance kit? wither way it helps back my claims up that the 4300 motor is not a stock speed motor!!!!!! this news makes me very happy indeed! i also hope big ern runs the 4300 class in focars! good news good news!
DEI.2 03-09-2006, 07:39 PM Hey Kat, I know this is a little premature butts, If 4300 brushless goes over good in focar could there be a second class next year like 5800?????????????
rcgen 03-09-2006, 10:44 PM Hey Kat, I know this is a little premature butts, If 4300 brushless goes over good in focar could there be a second class next year like 5800?????????????
I think someone is really hooked!!!! We haven't started this year's racing yet... :p
katf1sh 03-09-2006, 10:49 PM to be honest i wasn't 100% sure what the 4300 class was going to turn out like in year one. but i think there will be an A and B class at every event! i think maybe 15 or so entries at each race. and as every race goes by maybe one or two more guys will try there hand at it?
i honestly think 2007 may be the year brushless takes over alot of classes? i think the 5800 would be as fast as any of us want to go. there may be a sportsman 4300 and a factory 5800 class next year. ernie won't be the only one haing fun with a brushless motor soon. i'm very happy to hear he went fast with a 4300 motor...some guys thought it would be slow.... when i get caught up on some bills i'm buying a 4300 and a gtb speedo.
Echeconnee 03-09-2006, 10:56 PM Looks like Kat will be another entry @ Daytona for the 43k class, lol
irvan36mm 03-10-2006, 08:50 AM sooooo ernie went 37 laps with a 4300 motor? was this with the performance kit? wither way it helps back my claims up that the 4300 motor is not a stock speed motor!!!!!! this news makes me very happy indeed! i also hope big ern runs the 4300 class in focars! good news good news!
Fish-No,that motor was out-of-the-box. I looked at it. The "Performance Kit" that everybody's kinda concerned about should have been called "Survivability Upgrade Kit". The kit comes w/a bigger bearing (goes in pinion end of can) & stator sized at the shaft to fit the bigger bearing. Seems that the first few BL motors had shafts backing-out of the stator/arm thingy. Ernie didn't need no stinking Performance Kit-he just out-tuned his car (as usual) compared to everybody that day! LOL
Performance kit info: http://www.shopatron.com/product/product_id=NOV5922/135.0

BTW,Ernie practiced earlier that day w/a 58k motor in his car. That thing was stooopid fast! Ran 1 qual of 19t before buying a 43k motor from Jeremy, then turned his 37 lapper. What does that tell you?? (He knew where to put the comm drops in the BL motor! LOL) I with you about BL possibly getting ready to take over some classes in 2007-either in FOCARS or at the local track level.
