Is the clod an overall great truck.well anyways i have a couple questions.

1)how fast is it? (I imagine that it isn't blistering fast)
2)what is the cheapest way/upgrades to make it a rock crawler?

3)And this one is a weird Question(i dont expect any one to know this but is there a way to make it have a dump body that works (like the mammoth dump truck?

4)how is the clod in snow?

ya so if you can answer any of these questions please let me know!

in the snow it rocks i first got mine when i was in colorado, and as for dump bed with some fabrication it is doable, just use a three channel radio, ithere is no room for the mammoths dump bed gizmo

1) not really made for speed. but with a few mods you can get it to go fast enough. maily the tires they are huge!

2)dunno

3)you could just use a servo thith a long arm connected to the bed on a 3 ch radio, not like your going to use it as a real truck (its not that big)

4) preety good, got good grip and its just fun.

answer to question 2. make your own chassis.

answer to question 2. make your own chassis.

Or pick up a used one, either here or eBay etc. I have made lots of chassis for my (well, no longer my) Clods. If you enjoy that sort of thing a good crawler can be made VERY cheaply. Other than the chassis which should allow major articulation, you need high torque servos and motors.

Honestly, I think the best way to make a Clod crawler is to buy the whole thing used. they sell for way less than the cost of the Clod kit from which you will use ONLY the axles and wheels.

Just did a quick check on eBay and didn't see any real deals in terms of crawlers but in terms of getting a used one for it's axles and wheels there were quite a few to choose from.

It kind of depends on your intended use. You say crawling, as in you plan to USE it. If you want to show it off at the same time, then a used one may be too scraped up etc. There is nothing in a set of Clod axles that can not be cheaply replaced if it breaks. (not that you want to build one from parts!)

Check on ClodTalk.com as an idea source. Unless you join you can't even see their sale section but it is a great source of info. Also, RCMT.com. Both have a huge Clod audience.
