RACER185 03-02-2006, 10:01 PM Rob
Love the new HDX body, as you saw my Pro 3 is getting faster as I tune it to the new body.
Thanks
Jim
BallisticBill 03-02-2006, 11:37 PM Rob gave me the job of putting the decals on the new HDX and I didn't have time to finish it up today. I should have it done some time tomorrow and I will then get the body to Rob so he can take some pictures. Sorry for the delay.
Bye the way, If Racer 185 had not had speed control problems last Saturday afternoon at our local track and had to drop out of the race while in third place and gaining, then cars with the HDX body had a good chance of finishing 1,2,3 in our brushless main.
Dad "WJM"
Rusty22 03-03-2006, 01:23 PM are there any pics of this body?
MURDOCKRC 03-03-2006, 01:45 PM Here are them pictures
BAR 26 03-03-2006, 02:02 PM wow...NICE looking body Rob!
Is that all for the spoiler? looks a little small?....but i'm sure it works, you wouldn't produce nothing less then excelent
BA Motorsports 03-03-2006, 02:05 PM Do any decals come with the bodies?
MURDOCKRC 03-03-2006, 02:06 PM No that is not all the spoiler that picture is shown with the built in only. There is also an additional cut out one in the back end of the body that is not shown. Ill try to get another picture to fit of just the add on spoiler for you
There are no decals at this time but there are window masks with all bodies. And overspray film.
Add on spoiler has been added to pictures above

Rob
hyperdriver 03-03-2006, 06:36 PM Someone went all out with the decals!! Looks great.
Also, I really like the look of mine. Looks NOTHING like anything else out there.
Raptor_MS 03-03-2006, 07:01 PM Car looks good.....
One question that I have wondered. On the rear quarter panels when you place the stickers on it you almost have to look at it from the top to read the sticker.......why is this? I know this body is not "scaled" after a true NASCAR brand or type, but almost all bodies being made are like this.
If they go any further out with them, we'll have front fenders and rear fenders.
Kenny@RAPTOR
BallisticBill 03-03-2006, 07:44 PM Kenny
It's a proportion thing. The manufacturers have to have that area of the backend a little wider proportionally in order to cover the width of the back tires. I have put decals on hundreds of these cars over the years and yes they are all the about the same in that area. There is one body and I'm not sure if it is made any more where the manufacturer tried to narrow that area and part of the rear wheels stuck outside the body and it looked terrible.
Hyperdriver, I have some WIND TUNNEL body wash for you if your at the track tomorrow.
Raptor_MS 03-03-2006, 07:57 PM I would like to see a body where they widen the rear top section (rear pillar angle)to meet the width of the quarter panels, more like the real ones use.
If you look at a real ...... say Monte Carlo, it does have a "roll" from the rear side window down, but not exaggerated like the ones we run. Could you imagine ours scaled up to there's....LOL!
BAR 26 03-03-2006, 08:07 PM I might be wrong....But a real Cup Car is actually like a "Tear Drop" Shape Its wider in the front then the rear...thats why the rear fenders are like they are.....i think lol
Raptor_MS 03-03-2006, 08:11 PM My thing isn't with the width of the car, it's actually the width of the top section compared to the width of the rear quarter panels.
Instead of this: _______
.................................\
..................................\
More like this: \
.....................\
......................\
Keep the rear width of the quarter panels, just widen the rear width of the top section.
I think it looks funny and I was just wondering if it served a purpose.....
Manning 03-03-2006, 08:52 PM The "greenhouse" does look narrow compared to the lower part of the body.
Looks to me like that would add some downforce because more of the wing and spoiler could get some "clean" air........
The NHRA funny car guys have been doing this over the last several years (narrowing the greenhouse). There is a very pronounced step from the greenhouse to the doors on the latest cars....Supposedly for additional downforce. Of course those cars have a pretty radical rake compared to these.....
But what do I know.......
And the body looks good!
hyperdriver 03-03-2006, 09:08 PM Oh yeah!!! Ill be there. Cant wait to try this new one out...
Bodies are sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! Shot paint on mine tonight.Fit my Pro 2 shorty very nicely. Thanks Rob.

LOL,i know Rob,just wanted to let all know.
Fireball929 03-04-2006, 02:07 PM Just got mine yesterday. Looks sweet. Are you guys mounting them level? ex. Front body post the same size left to right and the same for the rear? For stock racing should I run the additional spoiler? I run the protoform r/t now?
Thanks,
Fireball
Fireball-Start without the add-on for stock. The body i tested with over the winter i mounted so posts were same height side to side.
The HDX will turn harder than the body you are currently running so be prepared to take some dual rate out.
MURDOCKRC 03-04-2006, 08:58 PM Use the trim lines that are in the body Fireball and start with that. Then let the natural rake that is in the body do its thing. Koz is correct, this thing will turn. I have two local racers that have turned their race program totally around the last couple of weeks with this body so they do work. They turn hard, stable, and versitle. As Koz also said. Start with no additional spoiler and if needed add some or slide your wing back to further assist you if needed. Rob @ WindTunnel Racing Products
Fireball929 03-05-2006, 01:26 AM No wing here rob. I will be trying it this coming weekend. Didn't have time to paint it. I did mount it level but it seems to be about 3/16" high on our height gauge. Don't worry that won't last for long.
KOZ That's good it will turn harder cause that's what I needed tonight. My car was good but just a small push coming out. I hope this does the trick.
Thanks and I will keep you posted,

MURDOCKRC 03-13-2006, 08:26 PM Woo Hoo!!!!!! The Windtunnel WJM "HDX" HD #2210 hits the ARCOR approved list effective 4/11/06. What a deal. The car is named after my Dad (WJM) and it becomes arcor legal on his birthday.
I want to say how proud and happy I am to have been the Leader in a new direction for oval racing bodies. This will open the doors for others to follow and keep our oval racing alive and well with high performing bodies that have no red tape or restrictions attached. New idea, new concept and now the LEADER. Windtunnel Body Works is the front runner and proud of it. Thank you all for your support
Rob @ Windtunnel Racing Products
Dean Keaton 03-13-2006, 09:51 PM The Putnam/Epp Aero 1 would be the first concept body, actually.
MURDOCKRC 03-13-2006, 10:08 PM Dean, if you have nothing good to say as you havent lately about my products then Im going to ask you nicely to go somewhere else. This is a support thread and you have repeatedly hijacked them lately. I appreciate your cooperation

Dean Keaton 03-14-2006, 04:49 PM Rob, I don't recall actually saying anything bad, just stating a fact. I see much worse on every other thread on here. I have said nothing belligerent or derogatory about any of your products, simply questioned one or two of your statements. In fact, a courteous answer to those questions would have been appreciated, but I guess I am out of line for asking. If my questioning is misguided, I sincerely apologize. I guess I have to tone it a bit.
BRDRACING 03-14-2006, 05:13 PM Got my body painted last night and hope to get to run it this weekend!
Thanks Rob for a good looking body
Brooks
MURDOCKRC 03-14-2006, 05:17 PM Dont worry about it Dean. I certainly dont mind questions but you have to understand that there is a business side of things that must be accounted for. Wether it be promotion (which I do alot of here) or retail pricing as you have touched on before. When was the last time you paid $580 for a car kit. You havent and the same is true with our spring retail. We must account for dealers, distributors and OEM for the discounts to come out correctly and we stay in business. And WindTunnel is the first to lead the new direction with "intent" in the body business. I believe that should answer all your questions. So lets move on and keep things moving in a positive direction for all races and manufactures.
Rob @ Windtunnel Racing Products
Fireball929 03-14-2006, 10:20 PM I posted a few pics of the new HDX in my gallery. Enjoy
