My whole network is Linksys. 4 desktops and 2 laptops. Never a bit of problem. Only problem I ever had was when trying a D-Link router... dropped my download speeds about 20%.

should not be that big of a deal I have never used one tha goes into the com port but the usb ones work well and so do the oness tha you have to use a pci slot for. I have run linksys and netgear I have actually had more lick with the newer linksys/cisco equipment that anything else.

And why nopt recomend Linksys? They have awesoem products..... to help in your search, I have noth Netgear and Linksys wireless routers, a Netgear PCI card and integrated Wifi in my laptop, everything runs great together. I use the Linksys to brodge off of my Netgear router, gives me wireless in my garage when Im workin on my car ;)

Well, once upon a time Linksys was the cat's meow when it came to consumer-level networking gadgets, mainly routers. But they got a swelled head about the business and started to throw shoddy products together that did not work as well or had the longetivity. I've had their routers fail miserably two weeks out of the box, one right after the other. I switched to Netgear's and haven't had a problem since.

Hmmm, thats too bad. So so far, Netgear is sounding pretty good no? I got my wireless router from them for $30 on sale at x-mas time ;)
