This will have to be a group participation thing.

Between all the racers that have attended a race at Maximus we should be able to come up with 100 quality reasons to attend the Iron Maximus II race.

A simple one line post is fine…

I was told very simular to snowbirds

PUF19

Not even close to snowbirds, much more narrow, and paperclip turns(unless they went back to the ice?) but about 100' strights almost. Its one of the nicest tracks you will go to! not sure of the run line Doug, in stock the record is 56 laps. (Eric Salvas)

For a flat track it's fast and fun, previuos layout I think was around 163 ft driveline.
I'll be there.

Lawman

Law,

Motor rules are the same as always.

The only differance is if you want your standing to count towards the NEOT points you will have to run an Ultrabird.

If I may give my .02...

I believe an ultrabird won't have the rip of a general ARCOR/ROAR motor, so how can you race a class with TWO spec motors together???

We need to be on the same page...I don't care which way we go, but it HAS to be one or the other.

How many laps did Lambert do with an ARCOR??? That will give you an Idea how far off they are. We did 61 with the ultrabird, so guessing Lambert did 62 or 63 with the good stuff...See my issue???

Thanks, Bret

Good point Jet, seeing most racers already have an Ultrabird, or access to one, everyone should be on the same powerplant. Or you split 19 turn into two catagories, which wouldn't make much sense to me. You can't run two motors together, that would be a real mess.

almost forgot HEATH...

1 thing for sure you guys must reconsider...the way the heats are raced...you should use the IFMAR type start(stagger)...its not fair for the ones who start last...at the horn...he's already 2sec behind the leader...and 2 sec...could put you in the A...or deep in the B....its almost the last place i race where its not in effect...

Why do IFMAR starts, this is oval type racing, NOT onroad! I understand your reasoning; however, rotating starting location for each heat seems to work out fine for all racers. If it is NOT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!

Eric I could not agree more, off the pole on your own clock is becomming a standard more and more places. I think it should be Ultrabird only in 19 T this race, i know Heath has them in stock also...
how about some feedback racers?? Any problem with ultrabird 19T only??
Speak up boys.

well...i've been to maximus 4 times....and the starting position were always planned on previous results...i never witness any rotating...when i was there...you would start by the finishing order of previous heat...so...if your as fast as the guy in front of you...anyway...i don't mind...the last time there with the handout...i was in front with half a lap...your right...don't fix it then...

Eric

I've done my share of traveling to races over many years. However, technology and time are reasons for change, and maybe there is room for improving qualifying as you mentioned, this type of start would give all a fair chance for a clean run. Only time will tell, see you in April at Maximus!

That is the way it is done at the Snowbirds and it works pretty dam good there. Remember, qualifying is about racing the clock, not your competition.
