View Full Version : Recent find in the attic. Need the help of members.
Iron-Chef01 02-27-2006, 09:52 AM I posted in the wrong thread before, sorry.
I found a Johnny Lightning car in my closet Sat. Still sealed in original container. It is a "Condor" model, red.
I went to ebay to see other cars and the Condor sold for more.
Just wondering if someone can point me in the direction of how or what is the value, if any, of this car.
Thanks for any help you offer.

CenterShock 02-27-2006, 06:02 PM Hey man,
Welcome to HobbyTalk.
If you get no good info here, try this forum....

By the way, when you searched e-bay, did you do a search of items that have already ended? If not, that gives you a decent idea of what has sold in the recent past and for how much. Do an advanced search and select auctions that have ended.
Good luck!
POCKETWOCKET 02-27-2006, 07:26 PM welcome to the board....the condor is one of the most sought after of the 1970 toppers....it always brings a high price, especially if it's on the original blister....wish my closet could spit out a few like that
i paid a decent price for mine a few years back:

YellowBronc 02-27-2006, 08:01 PM Sweet! Thats awesome it was still in the original blister, looks to be in pretty good shape too!
Iron-Chef01 02-27-2006, 10:36 PM Is there a book or guide I can use to value.
I'm not a collector, but I thought I might sell it to a person who is.
Then would take my wife and mom out for dinner and drinks to thank my father(he passed away already).
On the other hand, you guys are pretty friendly in here, maybe I will start to collect as well......just won't let the wife know.
Macs_Little_Car 02-28-2006, 07:21 AM Welcome,
There is a Tomart's Guide to Johnny Lightning out, but its pretty old, so I doubt if the values would be correct, but its great for reference info.
There are a couple guys who come by here that should be able to help you out more
Rob
Mr.Stubbs 02-28-2006, 01:52 PM I have seen two of them sell on epay over the last couple months.
A purple one that sold for $1,000 and a lime one that sold fot $500 so I'd say that's your price range. But of course you know that it's really worth what someone is willing to pay at the time!
The Condor is one of the harder BP's to come by and your's does look to be in really good condition. Just slight wear on the bottom edge and the back looks to be nice and white with no discoloration. You've got a keeper there!!
BOOGIEVANMAN 03-02-2006, 03:49 PM Was it your dads?
mopar_man 03-12-2006, 02:12 PM $0.49 for a JL? I still wish they were that cheap. Although figuring in the values of other stuff of the day, that was probably more than what they sell for today comparatively. Personally, I would keep that unless you really need the money. Or it might be the beginning of a bad habit of collecting :D
mopar_man 04-17-2006, 11:46 PM I wonder if anything ever came of this guy and his cars? Did anybody that's a Topper fan see them on E-bay?
redlinetoyz.com 05-23-2006, 08:23 PM you can get topper blister packs for around $50.00 in that shape and loose for around $8.00.

well appearantly he didn't persue the collecting thing... if u click on his name then view all his posts, all he did was make 4 posts about this find....
..I also have to agree with the above post... I found an actual original Topper Wild Winner in blister at an antique shop for 2 bucks...thought it was the find of the century...people told me it should fetch alot.... finally got tired of it, was thinning out my collection....put it up and ended up getting like around $70...
eh

Really!
Condors in the bp for $50? Please tell us where!
Macs_Little_Car 05-25-2006, 01:23 PM Yep, and I would like to find either of the Topper Ferraris in BP for $50.
Got any redlinetoyz? If you do, you got a customer here and Mr Stubbs would probably take the others
Oh, and I will take all your mint loose Topper Ferraris for $8 each also.
But something tells me you won't have any, will you?
