i know i could be remembering wrong, and this class started many moons ago. but a few years back when jimmy was bringing the sk back to manchester, i coulve sworn that it was based on any pan car that had the t-plate bolted solid to the chassis. i know the class is spec but seems to be half azzzd at that . looking at about 400-500 if you got nothing to start with,if not more. possibilities of cheap stick batteries and spec tires(if trinity still makes them). i dont know. just trying to liven the sport.

I started this class with the excalibur sk chassis. We didn't allow any other chassis when we ran them. The other sk chassis at enfield was a straight flat chassis. We ran the excalibur kit at Manchester and Stafford. We ran spec tires to make it a cost controlled class. Spec tires are easier to get today than back then. Almost all manufacturers have a spec tire and there are more guys making tires today. The excalibur car was started with spec racing in mind. In the spirit of bolink legend and trinity street spec. It wasn't and isn't trying to be a high end oval car. It's a high end spec car. A step up from legends. A bridge between legends and pan cars so to speak. Theres no need to get in an uproar. I just though I'd set the record straight. It's for store owners who appreciate the thought behind it and racers who like the style and fairness of a true spec racer. I notice there are other kits out there. I think its great! But in true spec spirit, they shouldn't be raced together. It isn't that ones faster or handles better. But all cars in a spec race should be equal. You can check out the pictures on www.beefyproducts.com and see what i'm talking about. The center battery mount and spec center shock are features of a spec car.
Thanks for letting me say my piece. But did we really need another sk thread.
