I have been racing indoor onroad for a few years now, but this year will be my first year to race offroad. I want to be in the class with the most competitive class, because I can't stand to watch. I know I may not be running in the top soon , but I don't want to say start in the monster truck and then see that the 1/10 2wd is realy the place to be. Just wonder where to go. 1/8 buggy or is the truggies going to be the thing. Thought you guys might have a little insight.

Stock 1/10th stadium truck is always a good place to start. It's usually a very large class and the vehicles are more forgiving for someone just getting into offroad racing. We have in excess of 50 entries every race day at our local track in this class alone.
Hope that helps,
Tony

I see that you are from Ohio. If you are close to Medina, there is a great track there. I raced there last year and in 2003. They main class is Stock Truck for electric. For gas...I didn't keep track of them, but there was alot. 1/8 scales and Monter Truck looked pretty big.
Hope this helps you out,
Jerry
