Funny that you say that he was just talking about how he was going to pay off his shop tab. This may just work out for him.

It only takes 40 racers for the following pay out:
A-Main 1st - $100
B-Main 1st - $100
C-Main 1st - $100
MORE RACERS = HIGHER PAY OUT
Maximus Raceway 03-15-2006, 11:09 AM Sounds like a good crowd for the Pay Out race. Looking forward to it.
Maximus

Mayhem 03-15-2006, 07:21 PM I think I won the b main last 2 races at Maximus.......Maybe I WILL use that same car again!! :)
PUF19 03-15-2006, 07:37 PM :jest: ......
Brad Sousa 03-16-2006, 12:42 AM just my opinion but i think if your gonna pay 100 to the winner of the a b and c main everyone in the a main should get something since they outperformed and probably outspent in $$ and spent more time setting up the car. thats why there faster so they deserve something. i would love to come to this race but i believe there will end up being to much hacking with the $ involved. and i would hate to be the guy punting the first place car or being punted for 100 bucks and it will happen. good luck too all and cya in april, Brad
THE BAT 03-16-2006, 06:19 AM How many mains have you seen that weren't hackfests even without any prize money? Racers always go for the win regardless.:thumbsup:Just ask dorocz how many times we took each other out. :D
The A main get's the same
NHOvalRacer 03-16-2006, 09:52 AM If your worried about hacking and your not gonna show up due to the fear of hacking....... Try Golf :) :) :) :) :)
Brad Sousa 03-16-2006, 12:38 PM bat, i know i've seen it we've raced enough times together but i don't believe it was on purpose any of the times. no big deal i'll be there in april. cya on sunday at k/n.
nhovalracer, can't golf for crap but i'de love to race the carts around greens all day.
maybe i'll come to this race i'll have to see how busy work is. one question how many people are coming to this race because of the 100 bucks??
omnis85 03-16-2006, 12:44 PM just my opinion but i think if your gonna pay 100 to the winner of the a b and c main everyone in the a main should get something since they outperformed and probably outspent in $$ and spent more time setting up the car. thats why there faster so they deserve something. i would love to come to this race but i believe there will end up being to much hacking with the $ involved. and i would hate to be the guy punting the first place car or being punted for 100 bucks and it will happen. good luck too all and cya in april, Brad
Should be exact opposite if anything, most A main drivers have been in racing for a long time, know there stuff and 9 times out of 10 are sponsored. C and D TRY but dont have the connections or ability or money etc to be in the "show".
Brad Sousa 03-16-2006, 01:11 PM all i am trying to say is if you make the a you deserve something. not knocking anyone else. and all this sponsor stuff is an excuse for people to use for not winning. in todays hobby theres not really anything you can't buy that anyone else has. for example batteries are what most people complain about. how many big named drivers are gonna go to this race and run stuff that won the nats or snowbirds or races like that no one. so just check around and see what the fast guys have for numbers on there packs you'll be surprised there not as high as you think they are. just have fun thats the way i look at it. Brad
PUF19 03-16-2006, 01:25 PM 9 X out of 10 its all about the chassis setup!!! No one really has a battery advantage in todays cells. Cells rite out of the hobbyshop can win!
Brad Sousa 03-16-2006, 01:31 PM thanks puf i try telling god knows how many people that but people still think it's the batteries. spend time on car setup. not money on batteries you will go faster and save money to.
NHOvalRacer 03-16-2006, 02:58 PM I still like golfing........ but yet I did get kicked out of Beaver Meadow's for trying to do a burnout on the pavement with a golf cart...... I did spin out my buddy in one too, I guess I hacked him you could say ;)
omnis85 03-16-2006, 03:45 PM you said it yourself about people in the a main spend more money and time therefor get a higher payout, I fully agree with chassis set up, I think thats number one, never said anything about batts, but the best batts and motors do help and if your telling me not then thats very untrue. I refused to spend the high dollar on batts and motors, maybe thats why I never realy made the A at big events, probably my driving, owell. I raced and was content with what I had and was happy with what I did, if that makes sense, but again people out spend the next and that should not mean that person or persons should get a higher payout because they made the A, if thats the case I wouldnt even bother. Let that person spend big bucks, go for it. Your right it should be about having fun and thats it, a place like maximus will get crowds even if there wasnt a payout.
Brad Sousa 03-16-2006, 04:27 PM ok but why the low turnout there every week? which means yes people are coming for the money therefor people will take the cheap shot if they had to to win. thats my point and thats taking the fun out of the hobby. i hope all works out well i love the place and i'll be there in april. unless someone wants to go 50 50 i'll take out the guy leading hahahah... j/k. Brad
NHOvalRacer 03-16-2006, 04:39 PM Anyone wanna go golfing??? haha
omnis85 03-16-2006, 05:10 PM Sure I will go golfing, I like the driving range to. As of the low turn out I dont know. If was a local I would be there every chance I could. Everyone knows that when they have a big event more people than usual attend. Have fun, learn, improve and BS'ing and if they want to take someone out for 100 bucks after spending money on entry fee, tires, batts, motors and the gas in your car to get there you got problems.100 bucks doesnt cover that much.
Tommygun43 03-16-2006, 05:45 PM I hear it was all in "thee chasseeee" :D
N2RACN 03-16-2006, 07:08 PM from a local at maximus (ME) no idea why people dont race weekly. i'm there almost every week. seems people have better things to do or... whatever. there was a decent turnout for a while then slowly tapered off. not for any given appearant reason. most everyone there are great guys. i for one would like to see allot more faces there weekly, i am always more than willing to help anyone at anytime, just ask and you will see. its just one of those unexplained mysteries i hope get resolved. see ya trackside.
jeremy
PUF19 03-16-2006, 07:33 PM I wish i lived closer(3hrs15min) i would be there every week!
NHOvalRacer 03-16-2006, 08:50 PM The only reason I go to the driving range is to scope out the babes playing mini golf... :) I am there pretty much every Tuesday :) Does that count? If you think about it, Maximus is New England's Premier track. State of the art equiptment, new carpet, always looking to improve, and most of all......... The FREE HOTDOGS ON SUNDAYS!!! :) As I sit here on the computer I am debating on driving the hour and 15 to get there to practice, but something just reminded me........ it's road course tonight:( Anyway my .2 cents.
if you dont support your local track, have fun driving hours to race for 16 minutes
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mayhem 03-17-2006, 01:18 PM I think what we are seeing now in the N.E. is that being that there are so many "big races" lately, the core group of knuckleheads who go to these races (myself included), tend to go to the track that is holding the race a couple of weeks before the event to practice.
I am eager to get back to Maximus to race but I tend to follow the pack to where everyone is racing that week and the weeks leading up to the event.
Another reason I think Maximus doesnt get so many weekly Sunday racers is the early start time. Who wants to get up at 4AM to go club racing? Do most of the sunday racers live near by the track?? If so there is the proof in the pudding.
Noon start time would boost attendance IMHO.
The starting time is 11 now has been for a while

There was good attendence heading up to the oval roar regionals in January. Attendence continued to get smaller after that event do to other major races coming up, the winter blast , snow birds, and cabin feaver.Heath decided not to run the cabin feaver weekend and the weekend after Maximus had the onroad regionals. It helps to keep it just stock. we enjoy 19t but it helps if everyone stick sto the same class.
dancingd 03-18-2006, 09:07 AM You also need to remember that the Lakes Region run thier races on Sunday mornings...Thier doors open at 6:00am and racing starts at 9:30..They run 4 diffrent classes and they had 30 register drivers on 3-12-06 for thier point series....Most of those drivers live around the lakes region..
Just to let you know that if you don't already know that Dave is back in the hospital...They are saying he had a mild stroke...Racing in still going on and that his brother will be there to run the races..He hopes to be back by the big race in April..
Anchor2 03-18-2006, 09:18 AM In the N.E. area, racing itself has become so diversified with the amount of tracks, classes, and car types, that the racers are spread out and have multiple choices of where and when to race. Meanwhile, I think that I have been racing with the same 85% of drivers today that were racing when I began 17+ years ago, which is indicative to how tough it seems to bring in new racers to the level that most of us race. Furthermore, with the advent and popularity of video game stations (online, stand-alone), internet, and other entertainment devices, the amount of 'NEW' racers has diminished in most areas. For instance, many drivers might have needed to direct their time and money toward different avenues due to personal reasons, economy changes, and may find the cost of competitive racing too high. Therefore, with a number of tracks within a reasonable driving distance has increased over the last 4 years, racers are faced with decisions where to race for that weekend, and when there seem to be 1-2 or more large events per month in the area (as Mayhem mentioned), this does not leave much, time, money or practice to run at the local track. Incidentally, where impact is placed on the tracks, large events dates and times might be effectively timed if all involved could come up with a schedule that would suite best in that area.

THE BAT 03-20-2006, 09:27 AM THE BAT will be flyin in for this one.Who else is going to make the this race ? :)
