All,
I got a nice air compressor from my neighbor today. It is run by a
Honda GX160 engine. My neighbor said it tries to start but it wont. I
looked at the spark plug wire and it looks like somebody spliced it
back together and put some electrical tape on it.

If thats the case should I go ahead and replace that wire? How
difficult is it? Is there anywhere on the net I can go download a
manual at?

You can't replace the wire, but you'd have to replace the whole coil. Have you tested for spark? Pulling it out and grounding it to the engine, looking for spark? Try a little gas, or starting fluid down the carb, see if it'll run. If it does, carb is at fault.
