View Full Version : which protofrom has most front downforce? toytowne 02-19-2006, 09:46 PM which protoform has most downforce? I will be using on tight flat track. thanks tj Dodgefan23 02-19-2006, 09:48 PM Dale will have to say for sure, but I'm willing to bet it would be either the High Downforce Monte Carlo or the new High Downforce Charger. Todd Putnam 02-19-2006, 10:18 PM New Charger has more front downforce than any other Protoform body... "Frank Ulbrik" 02-19-2006, 10:21 PM Im pretty sure the Charger has the most front downforce, then the Monti. The Monti Is still an awesome body & prolly a little easier to obtain currenty. I ran on a 125ft runline track last weekend & had great results with the intrepid MD. So which ever protoform body you choose they all work great. rccarpy 02-19-2006, 11:25 PM Okay, Im not gonna go into the method I use but, the Charger and the Monti HD are very close in the FRONT.Both produce the same right front down force numbers but the left front on the Charger creates 1/2 ounce more down pressure than the Monti. Just my 2 pennies of info. latemodel100 02-19-2006, 11:45 PM rccarpy .............. you have a wind tunnel or something????????? pepe 02-20-2006, 05:28 AM That's funny I was wondering the same thing. philb1 02-20-2006, 07:43 AM Well, no "windtunnel" here, but I had more LF wear at my weekly track with the Charger, not sure if it is a 1/2 oz or not, 180 ft runline track. Porksalot4L 02-20-2006, 10:52 AM i have a wind tunnel and do believe the charger to have more downforce. :) Kenwood 02-20-2006, 11:12 AM Im curious then.... On the track my car seems LESS AGGRESSIVE going in than with my MC HD..If the body has MORE front downforce then why does the car feel this way.. Im not the only one to observe the less aggressive feel of the body...Im not saying that its bad...actually I like the charger body.. But Im just curious if my feel for the body is incorrect..and that maybe the body is changing where weight is applied thus making me think there is less up front???? "Frank Ulbrik" 02-20-2006, 11:22 AM If your car is set up for a Monti & you put a charger on it with the same chassis set up the car will feel more stable & turn in harder but will be a little too stuck center off. IMO the charger body requires a stiffer RR side spring than the monti, and a stiffer LF spring. Rusty22 02-21-2006, 12:15 AM i want a "windtunnel"...where do i get this "windtunnel"...do i just let out all the hot air ive been keeping in? karter93 02-21-2006, 11:29 AM '92 pontiac Sonny B 02-21-2006, 02:09 PM '92 pontiac I know a local hobby shop that still has one on the shelf. LOL SHADOW 02-21-2006, 03:03 PM the '92 was good but the '95 gp was the best '92 pontiac KenBajdek 02-21-2006, 07:17 PM Someday we will find out if the PF Charger or the HD Monte has more downforce. We are still waiting to see the new Charger come out. I have been running the Mcallister Charger and it has more than downforce on the front but is still really stable through the corner. Porksalot4L 02-22-2006, 12:48 AM in my windtunnel i tried the mcallister charger and yes Ken you are correct it has alot of downforce and is stable in the corners. PUF19 02-22-2006, 02:08 AM They do not have a windtunnel in the BARS Joe...;0) Mayhem 02-22-2006, 11:28 AM Farts into a fan...:) Porksalot4L 02-22-2006, 12:41 PM Mayhem you coming to marshalls for the fever? hitch a ride bro! ill show you my windtunnel! :) vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
