View Full Version : Gentlemen, Start Your Engines "Daytona 500"
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:08 PM Looks like Bon Jovi is the warmup act for the 500.
Makes sense, considering all 43 drivers will be "Livin' On A Prayer" for the next four hours or so.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:26 PM Maybe now we can start the race?
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:34 PM Jay Leno driving the Corvette pace car.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:42 PM Free preview of the NASCAR Pay Per View package today, so if you've got PPV capabilities, check it out. Especially during commercial breaks. ;)
Tony Stewart, Dale Jarrett, Jimmie Johnson, Michael Waltrip, Ken Schrader, and Dale Junior (camera currently down) are the drivers to choose from.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:45 PM GREEN!!!!!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:46 PM Jeff Green is down a tire already!
He must've gotten those tires at Best Buy...
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:48 PM They've already seperated into two seperate packs. How does that happen in under three laps?!?
Jeff Burton leads lap 1. Green back on track.
WOOHOOO, feels good to be racin again!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:51 PM WOOHOOO, feels good to be racin again!
You said it!
Hows it going Swifty, hope Bill does good for ya today!
I liked seeing Jovi, he might not be great music but hes fun music
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:53 PM Going with Kenny Schrader's in car camera for this commercial break. He's right at the end of the first pack of cars.
can't believe we're the only ones here :(
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:54 PM Hows it going Swifty, hope Bill does good for ya today!
I'm doing well, how about you? Who are you pulling for today since Kerry's not running?
I liked seeing Jovi, he might not be great music but hes fun music
I like Bon Jovi myself. I live in the '80s, how can I not like Bon Jovi?
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:56 PM can't believe we're the only ones here :(
A far cry from a few years ago. But White Lightning Nut hasn't been active in almost a year. Not sure where Racer Joe, FE428CJ, and CJTORINO are.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 03:59 PM Going with Tony's camera this commercial break. Some of the other in car cameras are down.
CAUTION!!!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:01 PM Drivers are pitting...
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:02 PM Any idea why we're under yellow?
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:05 PM Vickers loses it and Truex hits the wall.
This brought out the caution. Jarrett and Shelmerdine penalized.
Back to green!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:07 PM Junior goes high and no one goes with him... He goes straight on back.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:08 PM Gordon to the lead! Sadler hung out to dry!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:09 PM Kenseth gets Gordon lose and takes the lead!
darkwiz 02-19-2006, 04:09 PM There goes Gordon.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:10 PM Junior to the lead!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:11 PM How did Tony save that race car?
Either way, he takes the lead!
Sorry Swifty, wasn't ignoring you. Trying to do some work while I watch. Anyhowz I guess I'll be rooting for Mikey this year since Rustys gone. I like Carl Edwards for my young gun. I pulled Kyle Bush in the race pool at work but can't bring myself to root for the shrub.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:13 PM Riding with Tony during this commercial break. He's still leading.
Boy we had alot of lead changes in a short period of time.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:14 PM I pulled Kyle Bush in the race pool at work but can't bring myself to root for the shrub.
I couldn't agree with you more. I couldn't root for either of the Busch brothers if they paid me to.
darkwiz 02-19-2006, 04:15 PM So far this is turning out to be a classic.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:16 PM Mayfield slow and smoking!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:17 PM So far this is turning out to be a classic.
This is the best NASCAR race I've seen in years!
darkwiz 02-19-2006, 04:17 PM Mayfield will always be a scrub.
I couldn't agree with you more. I couldn't root for either of the Busch brothers if they paid me to.
yeah he's worth $105.00 to me but I can't do it
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:19 PM Mayfield pitting again.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:21 PM Tony's still leading and McMurray is still running second. This cloud cover is wreaking havoc with the in car cameras.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:27 PM McMurray to the front!
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:28 PM Caution. And Tony swearing on the in car....
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:30 PM Newman wins the race off pit road.
McMurray with a 23 second pit stop. That's not going to win races (or championships!).
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:34 PM Back to green!
darkwiz 02-19-2006, 04:35 PM What happened? Who caused that Tony or Jeff?
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:37 PM What happened? Who caused that Tony or Jeff?
Both of them. Jeff for making the move, Tony for not letting Jeff in line.
darkwiz 02-19-2006, 04:38 PM I take back that classic remark Swifty & Pony. Too many good drivers in the back. How quick it can change in Nascar.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:39 PM A really misty Sunday drive out there...
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:40 PM I take back that classic remark Swifty. Too many good drivers in the back. How quick it can change in Nascar.
That could end up making it all the more classic.
And Kenseth to the front.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:42 PM Tony's picking them off in the middle of the pack. He may get back to the front, and soon!
He's diving high, low, and through the middle.
darkwiz 02-19-2006, 04:46 PM That could end up making it all the more classic.
And Kenseth to the front.
Good point. Man with this weather. The big one is even more bound to happen. It just has an Eerie feel.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:49 PM Man with this weather. The big one is even more bound to happen. It just has an Eerie feel.
If this were bring broadcast in black & white, I'd almost expect Bogie to make an appearance. The weather gives a certain mood to the event, and that mood is mystery & foreboding.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:50 PM First seven or eight cars have broken away from the rest of the field.
Swifty 02-19-2006, 04:57 PM Big one!
I dunno, I dont think that was the big one
