...so to speak...

Maybe someone who races Fray legal cars can answer this for me...

Is there a minimum body length, height, width, weight that a body needs to be? What exactly is the 'chassis assembly'?

My eyes gloss over everytime I read the Fray rules...

Try contacting John Habernal (habby@kc.rr.com) for any specifics about Fray rules, etc.

The Fray event seems like one of the better HO racing events happening these days. The fact that it's held in a warm and vacation-worthy location during the winter does not hurt one bit.

I'm not a huge fan of the "Fray style" cars because I consider them as far removed from real TJets as magnet cars are, and they're probably far more expensive than the lower classes of magnet cars racing. But it's certainly a theme that has garnered a lot of popular support and racing is racing. I'd like to make it out there soon just to soak up the experience. If someone's looking to put together a national level racing event they could do a lot worse than using the Fray as a model for how to do it right.

Lenny, maybe we should put together a "Team Hobbytalk" for next year's Fray? Whatdayathink?

I'm interested too.

I have long had my eye on this race, especially as a lot of my US buddies take part. Having taken part in (and now won) the Derby 24hr race, I'm always interested in our hobbies' 'other' huge race weekend.

I don't expect to ever win the Fray unless I luck into a top team somehow. Only one man has ever won both events: Rick Burneson.
