I live in utah and yes i am an addict. let me explain.. it is about 6am and it has been snowing non-stop since yesterday morning , i get up , get dressed to go to work . pull out of the garage and yes it is still snowing like crazy, the roads are horific to drive in and i have to stop by walmart to see if there are any new cars out on the pegs/shelves. no luck nothing really new. then it hits me that i have an addiction to collecting/hunting for diecast cars. my name is Carl and i am an ADDICT.

Welcome Carl and it is nothing to be ashamed about. Just go with it. I sometimes take my day off and go around the state or out of state hunting. I find nothing at times but if there is a sale I buy or I buy something. But it is ok, we are all in the same boat.

lol, I've gone out in a snow storm to look for diecast. I took so long my wife got worried I got into a wreck and I didn't have my cell phone with me. I was just at the local Wally checking out the toys :D

Yeah, I gotta admit, Sunday in a blinding snowstorm, I hurried up finishing the driveway so I could follow a lead I saw on the JL board about JLs showing up at TJ Maxx....... soon as I could, I drove right down there to check it out. Store was closed due to the snow. "Wimps", I said to myself, "Wal-Mart at the end of the plaza is open!"

the problem is Wal-marts is the only consistent store in the city, and they kinda suck. I should be able to kick this habit, dam internet and OLD's.

I too have the same problem. The more you get, the more you need!!! Well at least you don't get into too much trouble over it!!. Oh no, I am thinking of another car for the collection!!!

It was managable ...... at first. Then, I got hooked on BWF ...... baaaaaad stuff, man. Nasty. All downhill after that. :freak:

We have a special treatment program here for the die-cast addicts. All the large shop chains, smaller retailers, distributors and importers are part of that program to help cure the addicts.

The trick is, that they simply do not sell anything interesting, just boring die-cast models, same cars year after year. This treatment program is very affective, so there are very few addicts left in my country. I will be cured soon too...

I think I need an intervention...I have all race cars in my collection and now I'm looking at garbage trucks.

You think so, huh? Let me tell you about the most insidious force to hit diecast since...diecast. He's like a pusher selling crack to schoolkids. When he opens his store, I come a-runnin'. Old stuff, new stuff, not-yet-released stuff - he's got it all! His name's e-bay, and he's a bad MoFo.

Going on 25 years for me with no end in sight !!!!

I cant stop looking for 1/18 scale, I am beginning to have to hang more shelves to display them, not to mention I am hooked on automotive pictures, metal manfacturer
signs, as well as automotive clocks.

I fell off the radio flyer in 97, after almost 20 years of remission.

One of these days I expect to have white lightning/treasure hunt induced heart attack right there in the diecast aisle!
