Greetings All!

Some things have come up that deserve yet another thread (sorry porksalot) as you all know clearly from the 2 or 3 threads going we are starting the overhaul on March 4th....thru about the 9th.. And yes Im still pushing for help from you all (lol). I will say it again, if you're willing to put some time in - I will gladly feed you for it!

Chad asked me today what i thought of changing the days the track is open.... from Wednesdays to Mondays. Im not a racer so asking me shouldnt be the way to get the answer..... thus I direct the question at each of you! What days do you want to see the track open? What times?

In addition I have other things I would like to ask, such as who do you feel should do tech inspections? You all have made it clear you want Chad there all the time, calling races, but how can he call races, only have a two mintue break and inspect the cars? I may be totally off here - maybe its possible ... but I just thought I would lay it out for you all and ask how you feel about this - and what you want to see.

There's also the question of adding new nights for specific races (trucks, Sk's, etc)..... Im new to this and need a bit of direction - who wants to run when? How often? etc.

Do you agree that one trophy event per month is enough? I cant help but think any more than that- will be impossible to get good turn outs. Its hard enough for people to travel once per month and we want the races to have a good turn out - so once a month is enough RIGHT?

Lastly, Chads getting some major heat over posing the question to draw up some SK rules.... I think even with the heat..he still wants to - you can contact him with your thoughts or leave them here.

Talk to me! I want to make sure each of you are happy and will continue to visit K&N as much as possible.

Anything else you all want to discuss relating to K&N is welcome!!! As always if you want to email me feel free to - or respond here.

Thanks everyone!

Ok first of all, more then 1 tread is NOT needed!!! look at all that are replying, its like 5 people....we dont need 1 tread per person....
To me the best Idea would be say wed, friday, sat, sun. this way you one day in the middle of the week, and the weekend covered. Even 1 trophy race a month is too much, better off doing like 4 a season, it would be more meaningfull to those that show. As far a Tech goes it needs to be a racer, but NOT someone that is racing that day. Also someone that has been in it for at least 5+ years, that could spot iffy things.
Just my .2cents.
Nick

Well then why dont you just yell at me! JK

I understand its just hard to sort out all these different subjects..

The spec person is drawing major drama.... I dont know what to suggest - talk to Chad when you get a chance about possible people for this because remember he has to keep telling me "honey engines run on gas....you're holding a MOTOR!!!"

So Im far from able to comment here at ALL!

This seems to be a common complaint though - that he needs to address!

Well I think you should have one thread and stick with that one--not yelling at ya--this one should be it. Let the other ones die out--the last thing you want to do is have a thread titled CLOSE--dont remind people of the situation. Steping in the right direction-getting the place the way it should be. The heat of Sk rules is not just on chad, this has been like this for awhile now. The rules he had were fine-but stick with them or at drivers meeting make it known. If the race dircector is going to race-he will have to stick to the rules if you want everything to be fair, any class is just as important to the next-doesnt matter if its pro stock or spec class, they paid the same amount as the next. if people dont help than I guess who you have is going to be it. I will let you know if that date is open for me, I am sure it is but I am day to day kind of person. Sats are out of the question-sundays is my only day off so that would be the only day I can get away for most of the morning or afternoon.

Danielle
02-15-2006, 08:00 PM
I understand your point, that is one of the main reasons i started this thread GENERAL Because all the other threads are going to die soon enough...the one for this week - obviously is going to be done in a week, the overhaulin ones should die right around or before the start at 3/4......

So I figured this one could be the one always around for people to continue adding thoughts, ideas, complaints (sadly if need be)...etc.

I understand why all the threads are hard - Chad complained the same today - saying he didnt know where to look or start...And I was hoping this would soon be the only one.... as I DEF agree - its very confusing and hard to keep on subjects as is.

So I wont start new threads (LOL) and Im sorry to everyone Ive flustered by doing so.

On another note...did you really save money by switching to GEICO (jk)

It's a funny thing about the schedule. The reason I stopped racing 7 years ago. (Yes I have raced before, for those that seem to think I just fell off the turnip truck), was because it kept me from going to church with the wife and kids on Sundays, since race day at most tracks is on Sundays. I would like to be able to race, not just practice on another day besides Sundays.

And on the 8th day God created RACING!!!

02-15-2006, 08:57 PM
I will just bring the beer that way on that 8th day god with look the other way, hey best of both worlds, racing and beer--how can you go wrong.---new Heineken light is coming out -well to us that is, its been out, and is selling 3-1 over regular hinney. maybe I will bring some of that, taste testing thursday night. we will see. Imagine the drivers stand--everyone sloshed to hell--we will need alot of corner marshals-like in every corner--lol

omnis85 you are right beer and racing is the only way to do it :) maybe thats how KN can be bruaght back. if every weekend is like a party at that track then everyone would wanna go? lol how about topless (chicks only) corner marshalls? and a keg? lol

Danielle
02-15-2006, 09:13 PM
I second that!

I talked to Chad about this today...apparently we need a LICK-HER license!

I will look into it just for giggles maybe its more possible than we all think...but then again...if we did this we would have to set times for the drinking because obviously we cant have it in the "Family Environment" time...maybe only one night - evenings ya know? I tried to talk him into looking into a new space..he said what would i do with all that space - I reminded him "ummm hello half of it is a BAR!" LOL....

Way back when I asked him about a place that could add pool tables (etc) he told me that the racers dont want extra hobbies in there - or things like this...

Oh and to rain on our parade Chad says his LEASE wont let him sell beer....so thats out...but hey it just said he cant SELL it... then he mentioned not wanting people drinking during races...so outta that conversation I got:

1. Dont sell it

2. Dont drink during races

LOL

Okay if our beer plans are limited lets focus our energy on the important goals which are obtainable........TOPLESS CORNER MARSHALLS!

Danielle
02-15-2006, 09:17 PM
Oh and thanks for the congrats....... That was very kind of you! Now if you only showed up at K&N on regular occasions I would think even HIGHER of you!!! Just Kidding! I know you live down there in PA (right?)....

If this is gonna be the only K/N thread to use i wouldnt worry about topless c/m or beer i'd try to keep it on the professional side so people take it serious.let the other threads fade away and keep all the track news on here and the track event thread.Danielle i pm'd you an address and have a few more to send tommorow.

its all about fun its better than reading the place is going down hill or whatever--I think this adds to it. people reading the thread laugh and makes it intresting and wanting to come there IMO.

Porksalot4L
02-16-2006, 01:51 PM
my thoughts are that KN is a very hard track. very hard for a guy like me to go there and expect to do good. doing good equals fun. doin bad equals having a bad day and not wanting to go back for awhile. so if the racing is goin to suck for me then maybe if there was somthing else fun goin on there id be more inclined to make it there sooner. :) just my thoughts. you think a ton of people go to marshalls for the cabin fever only for raceing? yea the majority of them do. but theres alot of guys going there just cuase they know the night b4 we are goin to get wasted. lol just my 2cents

Dont be sorry - its all fine! I think the last 2 days have been heated on line to say the least. Me having it out with Steve - etc.

I think we just wanted to bring some humor to the table thats all.

The bottom line is Im focused at doing whatever it takes to get K&N's numbers back up if that means I go topless - so be it (KIDDING JOHN, LAUGH)....

Is that what it is Joe? I thought it was to see you drag your butt in the morning after the Friday night binge. Those days are over for me, seeing the condition of some of you guys the next morning reminds me why. To eack his own, see you next weekend.

K&N isn't that hard, but it does make you drive a good line all day.

My plans have changed, I am practicing tonight and racing at K&N on Sunday this week. Bring yo pan car on Sunday. And bring some samples of that buzz juice. Time to log some official laps, instead of just practicing all the time.

Okay Im giving y'all the heads up....but it looks like Chad has put some things to do off - a bit tooooo long so he may have Fred fill in for him at the track to get some things done before the wedding (SUCH AS FIND SOMETHING TO WEAR!!!).... So y'all might not see him tonight or maybe even tomorrow if it goes that bad for him....

Hopefully we wont have to change anything else, sorry for the troubles.

Just a reminder -

In February

Friday February 24th is $7.00 Race Night - CHAD will call the races!

In March:

Friday March 3rd - another $7.00 Race night - yes Chad will call the races
Friday March 17th TRACK IS CLOSED - we will move the $7.00 Race Night to Friday March 24th as a make up....

We are very sorry that we had to change the plans for the 17th - but as you may have read already we are having our wedding reception on that night.

Because NEOT is that weekend we will have extra hours on Saturday March 18th - estimated to open at 7am or so - but will be announced closer to that date.

NEOT - comes to K&N on Sunday March 19th - we will open at 7am (and its Chad's 30th Birthday so lets not forget to remind him of that!!!LOL)

Thats all for now, changes & updates will be posted immediately upon notice.

Thanks everyone, Danielle

Danielle, Here's my take on a few of the issues you mentioned. Tech-Nick and Karen had a very good, proven system at the track for many years. The model is there, it was succesful, i'd try to copy as much of the program as possible. The announcers' stand was next to the track for a reason, so nick could pick a couple cars at random and take quick peek at the motors during that limbo time waiting for the marshalls and racers to waltz up to the track for the next heat. doesnt need to be a full blown teardown, just a quick peek and the PERCEPTION that one could be caught are all it takes to hinder any funny buisiness. Basically top 2 cars each race eliminates any thoughts of favortism etc. now that the stand is in left field you may have to get creative to do this. When track records are broken there should be a procedure written in black and white for motor teardown which is simply automatic, whatever it may be. Whomever is running the races, you, Fred, or chad need to have this down cold. DONT rely on the racers. We had an example of this recently, and we all know how that turned out, or DIDNT turn out. Much to my disbelief nobody knew what to do, and the so called volunteers chose not to do it. Again, I would use the system K and N used, I have been on the recieving end afew times, LMK if you would like me to elaborate..

I may need you to explain some more but let me talk to Chad about it first - and see if he fills in the blanks to what i dont get. You gotta realize this is totally new to me and as much as Im trying my best to learn everything and help everyone its not coming along as fast as I'd like it to, sadly.

I will be in touch after the wedding, thanks for taking the time to talk to me though, it helps - every little bit I get helps... truly!

We are also making a sign up sheet for the overhaul process - if you think you can help (PLEASE) either contact me to let me know when - or sign up at the track. We may need a few people to bring some minor tools - but other than that we will supply all the needs & food/drinks...

WE are also looking for new banners/posters - if anyone has ideas I would appreciate it.
