I recently started using this charger. I am having a problem using the temp cut off detection. Do I need to use the thermo tray? I tried to use the temp sensor that was supplied with the charger, but it cuts off way before the battery is charged. I also noticed to battery temp and outside temp stay the same. I read the directions a few times and am still not sure if there is a problem with the charger or if I need the tray. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, JON

basically the batt temp and outside temp are the SAME if you do not use the thermo stand... If you do then the sensor is effectively laying outside and measures temp.. Remember the TEMP is NOT in farenhiet.. However I noticed that in order to get my batts to properly peak I had to raise the TEMP shutoff..If you raise it just enough to allow the delta peak to work properly you will be fine... I dont remember the setting I used but basically Im within 5 degrees of what the batt peaks at..

I found the same thing. I raised the temp cut off, and let it peak on the delta peak cut off and worked fine. In the instructions it says that sensor is the battery temp sensor, that what I was confused about. I figured it was a bad translation from where ever the charger is made to english. Just wanted to make sure it was indeed working properly. Thanks again Jon

Yeah I basically Took a Freethrow into the wastebasket with the useless instruction book.. I have the thermo tray.. Its a waste of $25.00... basically its a plastic tray with the same sensor in it... Save your money... LOL
