I have a Novak SS5800 BL system. With this, I can adjust the speed settings to make the motor slower or faster depending upon the situation. Well, my GTX mentions something about having 7 different speed settings.


Last night, I programed and played around but the only thing I noticed was braking effects. The motor didn't seem to change in speed any.

What does Minimum braking mean/do?
What does Drag brake mean/do?
Is there any way to control how fast the motor runs with a GTX? Thanks! :thumbsup:

The GTX will not work with a Brushless motor.

If you mean the GTX with a normal motor, the 7 profiles are there to control drive frequency. Drive freq is only used when you are on and off the throttle.
If you hold the throttle in the whole time say for stock and 19T oval racing, then you really just need the Lowest drive freq. For mod you will want to raise the freq.

Putting the setting to 1 is for stock racing where you want full power, high acceleration, agressive profile.

Raising the setting to say 5-6 gives you less acceleration and a smoother profile, great for when you are on and off the throttle.

Ok, well this is for a stock motor. I'm also on the throttle 100% throughout the race, so I guess profile 1 is what I want.

drag break is used to slow the car when in the nuetrel position of the trigger, instead of just using the drag on the motor. minimum brake is as is sounds the percent of full brake that is first applied to the motor while braking.

So I could set the drag brake and it would automatically slow me down when I let off the throttle?

I could set the minimum brake to 0 and when I hit the reverse, it wouldn't do anything, right? Thanks!

min brake doesn't turn off the brakes, it just changes the amount that is first applied when braking

think of min brake as when you press the brake peddle on your real car. when you first start to brake it doens'y apply full brakes it applies min braking. you can adjust the amount that is applied when you first start to brake.
