I'm getting tired of my glitch problems with my am Futaba radio(carpet 1/10 pan car racing). I want to get a decent priced FM radio with small FM receiver. I want something that can have seperate end point adjustments for left and right turning. I'm thinking I should stay with Futaba as my FPS148 steering servo has the Futaba 'J' connector. But in the future I may want to get a better servo, such as a micro servo with a bearing in it to clean up the slop in the steering.

Would the Futaba 3PM be a good choice? Or is there another brand around $120 that would come with a steering servo and FM receiver?

What is a synthesized radio? What is the 'dry battery pack' that comes with it?

Thanks

Futaba, JR, Hitec all sell good FM Radios for a great price. If you can afford sythensized get it.. No more crystals.
There is also an moderately priced Spectrum radio on the market for a good price. No frequency problems at all.
Do some research and get the best you can afford. You will not regret investing the money.. A high quality radio will last you for a LONG time if you take care of it.

Stick with Futaba,It's all I've ever run and have never had a problem with them.If glitching is your problem you may want to think about going PCM,you can get a Futaba 3pj pcm radio for little of nothing now.A good radio is money well spent if you plan on staying in the hobby,it will last you for years and years so go ahead and splurge now it will save you money and LOTS of frustraton in the long run.

I agree with Pepe, Think of a radio as an INVESTMENT buy the best you can afford, take care of it and it will last forever!

The 3PM is a great radio and consider what like Pepe and Fl Flash has to say. I've always been a futaba person and no problems with all my Futaba's. I have a the 3PM FS that I use on my off road cars and and 3PK for oval and touring. I love my 3PK with the spektrum. If you can find the 3PM FS, its the synthesized version of the 3PM which basically means crystal free on the radio but you'll need a synthesized receiver. It was offered a while back but haven't seen it available lately unless you find it under the Megatech name.
