Hi, I've beem reading lots of postings here and am still in the dark. My 18 hp. Husqvarna yard tractor with Vanguard OHV vertical shaft model #351777 will start and run at idle or at full throtle but just dies as soon as I try to move it. Of course it has interlock swithes that I have checked out to be fine. I have a snowblower attached for our winters. When the chute cloged with wet snow I stopped the unit and turned off the engine so I could clear the snow from the chute. I had to do this a few times but the last time as I let out the clutch/brake pedal it just died like it was grounded or fuel was cut off instantly. I managed to get it in my garage by moving about 6" at a time (letting the clutch out and quickly putting it in.
I have disconected the blower, electric clutch, drive pulley and belt and it will start fine but still no drive. I have changed the fuel filter and do not think it is a fuel problem as it runs fine. The air cleaner is new too.
Can anybody be of assistance.
Thanks

sounds like its the seat switch to me , or the plug on the ("clutch") switch might be loose or came unplugged , sounds like moisture might have gotten somewhere it should not have blow air in the safety switches and dry them out , you could unhook the main kill wire on the engine, that will eleminate one or the other ,,

Thanks scrench, I undid the kill wire and that keeps it going. I had taken out the seat and the brake/clutch switches to test them and they seemed to work. So I'll get them out again and dry them good.

Hi scrench,
I blew out the brake/clutch safety switch and dried it off. Works fine now. Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction.
