I had a chance to play with a few ORC products this past weekend. The T-bars were great Walter. I ended up using the SS bar. It really seemed to free the car up. The T-bar pivot balls are smooth as glass when putting them in also.

Anyone who has not tried the T-bars yet, get one. You will love it.

I have been running the SSt-bar everywhere I go. It has been the ticket, that is for sure. I have also been playing with the ORC front springs. They work just as well. The spring retainers for the front springs are great. It is a hard plastic that does NOT bind the front end. I have been using the the 8lbs on the RF and the 12lbs on the LF. It seems to be what works best so far. A 10lbs on the RF also works great on tight tracks.

i have been running the firm plate right now. If I went to the ss plate what would I have to change? shock oil/center spring/tire compounds I have tried the fiberglass plates and found my car to be sluggish through the corners. I run mainly on a short tight track in 4 cell stock.
Thanks,

This past weekend in Illinois was the first oval brushless Challenge. 94 entries running the 4300 motor. I need to thank Walter and ORC for the great products that put my car into the TQ spot. Walter, the SS T-bar was perfect. I run it everywhere I go. The front end springs and retainers are just as great.

If you have not tried these yet, make sure to get ahold of ORC and ask to try the SS t-bars.

Thank you Walter.

Jamie, great run at the Novak Brushless race. Too bad you couldn't go all the way. It's hard to pass up that kind of $$ to start in the back. For those of you who do not understand there is sort of a bounty that was put up for Jamie to start in the back after being TQ. It was a nice chunck of change. Please tell us more about this.

Walter

Front Row Challenge

If you start in the back and win you get 500.00. I read this on the other thread. It also said something about every car passed you would get 20.00.

I am Jamie Hanson's very proud father who was at the track in Rochester, Illinois this weekend for the first ever Novak Brushless oval challenge race. It was a wonderful event and great credit and kudos must go to Novak, Sonny Brown, and all the folks at the Allen RC track who put on, without a doubt, one of the best oval RC oval races EVER. The track is not one that you may have heard much about. But, it is a must do, must see track, and if they do this again next year, you should not miss the event.

Anyway, Jamie held the TQ position (actually he held it 3 times) at the end of two days of qualifying rounds. Just prior to the mains and as a surprise to all, he was then offered the chance to take the front row challenge. Sonny Brown offered him (in front of the entire crowd) a chance to take home $500.00 if he would move to the back of field on the grid and then win the race from that position. If he took the challenge, he would could still earn $20.00 for every car he passed even if he did not win the race. Jamie said "why not" and his car was moved to the back of the grid when the A-main cars were put down for the run.

Were Jamie and his dad both a little nervous ? You bet!! Anyway, the bell went off and the race was on. As can often happen, early wrecks sidleined one car and littered the track. Jamie somehow got thru and moved up. A couple laps later after he had passed a few cars, he is in the lead and running fast laps until his car gets caught up in an accident which happend just ahead of him in turn 1. His car had to get marshalled and he lost a couple of laps (lap times at that point were still around 3.4/3.5 seconds/lap). Jamie got back on the track passed another car or two and finished 4th. After Jamie wrecked, his very good friend, John Sparks, had the lead until he too got caught up in a wreck and fell back to 3rd. T.J. Domark was fast. He somehoow got thru the wrecks and took home the win. Jamie and I both extend our congrats to T.J. on the victory. It was all very exciting. If you were not there this time, hope to see ya the next time they do this. THIS event however will be very hard to beat.

just bringing this back up. I tried the ss t plate and just couldn't get the car free through the corners. I put the firm plate back in and change the center shock back and the car is free again. The firm plate is close to a year old and still perfoms like new. Also I TQed @ the Jeff Sears Memorial Race on Sat. Only one to run 91 laps in 1/10 scale stock. Thanks for the great plates.
See ya

I guess it all depends on how you like the car to feel. I have tried the SS all the way to the medium on flat carpet ovals. I always go back to the SS. It must be all the little things that make the change. Don't give up on the SS. Like WALTER said, there will come a time when it is the ticket.

I know it is now summertime but this thread can not drop this far..... They guys at ORC were great. I was running there T-bars all winter long. The SS worked best for me. Toward the middle of the season, I started with the front end springs as well. 10lbs RF spring and a 12lbs LF. Perfect for indoor flat tracks.

Now we move outside and I for one am excited.

Thanks Dave for the kind words. And Thanks Jamie for bringing this back up towards the top. Yes, the outdoor season is coming and hopefully the racing will resume around the cooler areas really soon. We will releasing another line of T-plates later this week for the new KSG cars. Check back later for these at your LHS and a few of the online shops located on the right side of this page.

Hi Walter, I was wondering if you are still making that servo plate to move the servo left to right and front to back? Will it work with the new ksg? Are you making the offset t plates for the gen2 ksg? What will be the stiffness?
Thanks for making a great product.
Thanks,
