I purchased the 70 Rag Top Mustang and the boss 302. I really like them, and they are nice out of the package. I get a kick out of the Green Rivets on the front of them.

I received my first GL cars this week too.
Although most on HobbyTalk know me as a Die Hard JL collector, I'm making room for these GL's

The GL Mustangs I bought look really good sitting next to my JL Mustangs and filled some holes in the collection. I really like the GL's so far, but I wouldn't really say the quality is better than JL. I think JL still has slightly better paint and the chassis is much more realistic than the GL. Now, you may not find the realism of the chassis important, but the chassis on the JL '70 Mustang is quite impressive in its detail and realism. I only came to appreciate it through a recent custom project that I did on a JL Boss. It is very accurate for this scale. I can't say that for the GL. I'm not saying this to put GL down by any means....they just won't be replacing my JL's at this point.

I disagree SD64. Though neither chassis is up to a Gold Series JL or Biante car I would say they are about the same quality. The Greenlight rear end housing looks just like a 9 inch. The Greenlight has exhaust pipes going out the back at about the right spot; and the bellhousing and sub frame looks more realistic. I would give the JL a nod for the mufflers and the front suspension. I would say dittos on the paint job. If I was shown both cars and had to tell which was a JL and which was a GL based on outward appearance I don't think I could tell them apart.
As far as replacing, I buy all types of diecasts so won't have the problem of chosing one over the other.

Ahhh....my fellow Mustang loving friend. I'll be buying both as well. For sake of discussion I took a couple of photos. The first is a comparison of the the GL 1969 Boss 302 Chassis (Left), the JL 1970 Chassis (Middle), and the JL Chassis after I painted it (Right).

For fun, I'm including the underbelly of a HW 61 Boss 302 in 1:18:

A detailed base is a plus when you're playing (er...I mean, "displaying", yeah!) with them and one of them gets involved in a rollover crash. A cheesey fake base just makes it all dissappointing for the tow truck operator.
So kudos on the detailed bases!
