View Full Version : Weekly carpet oval racing at Xtreme R/C
Dirtydrc 01-30-2006, 09:21 AM Racing every Saturday night, practice 3:00 pm, racing 6:30 pm. 1/12th scale only. Small, flat 80' centerline flat oval. Kind of like flying jet fighters in a gymnasium. 5 minute heats, 2 rounds, 100-150 lap mains. Very casual atmosphere. Good, clean fun. Track and shop have been around about 10 years. Located in New Milford, CT. 860-354-4703. Jay Brolet, owner. Runs x-rays on road course also. Huge off-road and nice dirt oval outdoors. Pics available on request.
NHRCRACER 01-30-2006, 10:23 AM Is everyone running purpose-built 1/12-scale oval chassis or regular on-road chassis with oval bodies?
PUF19 01-30-2006, 11:03 AM Matt, they are using both at this time.
Nick
Dirtydrc 01-30-2006, 11:27 AM I race there weekly. Everyone has slowly switched to oval chassis except 1 or 2 people.
RCRacer00 01-30-2006, 05:28 PM This is Stock? What are some set-up tips for a L3? Rollout, tires, front end settings, Springs, Shock oil, ETC, ETC, ETC!!!!
Is there a Website with directions? Or just phone number!
I'll try it out.
Dirtydrc 01-30-2006, 05:50 PM www.xrcracing.com. Set-up for L3 might be purple fronts, pink / grey / white / platinum rears. .020 on LF, .018 on RF, -1 cmaber RF, +1 camber LF, 2 degrees caster both. Soft center spring, lighter oil (little bumpy). Most cars run side damper tubes. Stock motors only. Rollout 1.45 - 1.65 depending on motor. The key to the kingdom at Xtreme is to get off the corner straight and on the throttle early.
RCRacer00 01-30-2006, 06:03 PM Allright, I'll work on changing my set-up. Chances are I'll see you guys in a couple weeks. After the first race of the N.E.O.T this weekend.
Dirtydrc 02-02-2006, 11:15 PM Just a reminder, it's 1/12th scale only.
MIKE VALENTINE 02-03-2006, 09:42 AM The track is a bull ring, but you won't have more fun racing anywhere. There a great bunch of guys. I might even have to come down to play sometime soon.
RCRacer00 02-03-2006, 10:45 AM 1/12 scale is what I'm looking to race. I got a car for the winterblast, practiced, practiced, practiced. Not enough showed to run the class. So I'm ready to get the 1/12 in a race.
RCRacer00 02-28-2006, 10:50 AM THinking about makeing a trip there this Saturday(3-4-06). Looking to support you guys, I see a few were at K&N This past sunday. I been waiting to run my 1/12 since the blast, The one weekend i wasn't at the track to race others show to race 1/12. Anyways, This is how it should work one track helps the other. How's the turn out for you guys? Do you have the needed tires in stock? Shot me a e-mail if you could. I'll be there this sat. Mgordo1027@hotmail.com
omnis85 02-28-2006, 12:46 PM what about S/K's? they are like 1/12th scale. I might be intrested in it and know a few others who might be as well.
Dirtydrc 02-28-2006, 01:19 PM He will run any class if at least three show up. I think SK's are awesome. They used to run al lot of Legends there until Bolink fell apart.
omnis85 02-28-2006, 01:47 PM I am pretty sure there will be Sk kits being sold there soon if not now. Its a real fun class to race in. I will see if I can get a few guys up there in the future.
TEAMHAWHAW 02-28-2006, 01:56 PM Thanks to the guys who stopped by K/N last weekend. Its great to build up the 12th scale class in CT. I know some guys who might be interested. I'll let them know and try to bring them down.
