View Full Version : Cast the Batman Begins Villians!!
Trekfreak 01-29-2006, 07:43 PM With the new success the Batman movie franchise has gotten because of Christian Bale's Batman, Christopher Nolan's direction and the great writing from Nolan and David S. Goyer, alot of rumors have been flying about who will be the newest baddie to lock horns with Batman in the next movie.
If you were to cast the Batman villians which actor/actress do you think
would fit the role.
Zorro 01-29-2006, 07:56 PM A little hard because I suspect Nolan will continue to cast very good actors who are probably not "A-List" stars. I also imagine he will tend to stay away from most of the "sillier" villains that were done in the 90s. Still, having said that - it's apparent that The Joker will appear in the next one and my choice for that role would be ................................... Brad Pitt (yes, I'm serious).
El Gato 01-29-2006, 08:00 PM Matt Damon would make a decent Joker too. My impression of him as an actor is really growing.
Though Brad Pitt as Two-Face would work out very well. Hot shot, good looking DA is distraught over the disfiguration of his face... by acid, not by a wild night with his freaky partner Angelina.

... who of course, would make a decent Catwoman although my choice would be Naomi Watts.
John P 01-29-2006, 08:12 PM Catwoman? Jessica Alba! Remember those panther-crouch spots she did between commercials on Dark Angel? I'm getting warm just rememberin'.
razorwyre1 01-30-2006, 07:35 AM philip seymour hoffman as the penguin?
John O 01-30-2006, 09:44 AM The Joker
my choice would be .................. Christopher Walken (yes, I'm serious too).

I'd say Gary Oldman is pretty close to "A-list," as is Christian Bale.

I'm not talking talent, I'm talking current "star wattage" ala Nicholson, Pfeffer, Carey, etc. It's a different approach and a good one.
bugs bunny 01-30-2006, 12:02 PM Definitely Matt Damon as Joker, I agree...Remember his laugh seen in Saving Private Ryan? He has definite Joker potential.
portland182 01-30-2006, 12:59 PM Peter Stormare would do a good Joker

iamweasel 01-30-2006, 01:54 PM Other then the Joker, I hope they move beyond the rogues gallery of Ivy, Catwoman, Penquin, Riddler and Freeze.
I would love to see a version of Bane like the comics, not that braindead lame version they gave us in Batman and Robin. I'm talking the genius, brutal and completely heartless one!!!!
Killer Croc would be nice as well. Manbat etc etc, those are what would be nice just not retreads of the same old villians.

Given the tone of Batman Begins, I think this is likely for the time being. Of course, once they decide to introduce Robin (about the third or fourth installment) all fidelity toward seriousness sort of goes out the window.
Well, they have to do the "known" villains, as they're part of what the public associates with Batman. But looking at BB itself, they started right off with two of the lesser known (to the average person) villains - Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul - so I'm hoping that they'll choose ones that are appropriate to the story, rather than choosing a villan and building a story around them, which is what the previous films tended to do.
Drew Carey as King Tut .

bugs bunny 01-30-2006, 04:10 PM Another definite Joker possibility would be Timothy Olyphant(Mickey the killer from Scream 2). I think he's got what it takes to play a psychotic and plus he sort of reminds of Nicholson.
Old_McDonald 01-30-2006, 04:10 PM ... who of course, would make a decent Catwoman although my choice would be Naomi Watts.
Catwoman was always the sexy counterpart for Batman. I choose Ginger Lynn or Nina Hartley:cool:
Just Plain Al 01-30-2006, 04:16 PM I can picture John Leguizamo as the Joker, the hard part would be finding someone who wouldn't do a Nicholson impersonation.

Tera Patrick... :dude:
bugs bunny 01-30-2006, 04:22 PM Tera Patrick... :dude:
How about Eva Longoria? :dude:
XactoHazzard 01-30-2006, 04:30 PM The Joker is a major step for this NEW franchise... I have always said the Jim Carrey would be a great Joker. Ideally the guy who played him in the Dead End film would be perfect... But in line with the way Nolan is going with the casting Crispin Glover as The Joker is probably the way it's gonna go. (actually Mark Hamall is the best choice character wise.)
Brad Pitt as Harvey Dent
Jeremy Irons as Freeze
Ashley Judd as Selina Kyle
Ron Perlman as Killer Croc
Bruce Campbell as Clayface
Hugh Jackman as Man-Bat
Dwayne Johnson as Bane
Danny Devito as The Penquin
Dane Cook as The Riddler
Ray Park: would be cool as almost anything

beatlepaul 01-30-2006, 04:58 PM Far be it for me to perpetuate rumors, I heard a rumor that MY favorite former Batman, AND BEST Batman, Michael Keaton is in the running for the Joker Role.It would be interesting. However I had hoped Burton would adapt Frank Miller's Dark Night Returns Using Keaton as the older Batman. Look what they did with Sin City.
El Gato 01-30-2006, 05:09 PM ^ I was joking with my wife that they should've cast Keaton as Bruce's father in Batman Begins. But it would be very cool if he is indeed cast as The Joker.
Eva Longoria as Catwoman? puurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Michelle Pfeiffer won me over in that role as the one and only Catwoman, but I wouldn't mind Eva donning a leather suit.

f1steph 01-30-2006, 11:52 PM Jim Carry would be an excellent Joker, both are totally screwed up in the head like Jack Nicholson was. But I don't think that any actors that were seen in the other Batman movies are gonna be called for any role in this new franchise. So for Catwoman, I would vote for Miss Rrrr.... Alba.
Griffworks 01-31-2006, 12:53 AM ^ I was joking with my wife that they should've cast Keaton as Bruce's father in Batman Begins. But it would be very cool if he is indeed cast as The Joker.
I think that Keaton would make an awesome Joker. Especially after having seen some of his darker roles, such as in Desperate Measures.
I second Crispin Glover. He brings a real feeling of danger and lunacy to the role. Best candidate so far....
iamweasel 02-01-2006, 07:03 AM I think with Glover it is because of the real danger of his lunacy that he comes across as he does.
lonfan 02-01-2006, 08:25 AM philip seymour hoffman as the penguin?
Now that is inspired! YES!

lonfan 02-01-2006, 08:49 AM Too bad they already did Scarecrow, I still liked the idea of Howard Stern in the Role. Apparently he was approached in the Shumaker Films (Stern said)
I hated Phifer as the Catwoman! Hated Halle's version as well, To me there will be only Ms. Newmar in that role! (although Eartha Kitt was very hot! lol) I would like to see Whoever was Steve Carell's Girlfriend In the "40 Year Old Virgin" as the Catwoman! (I'm serious she can act AND was Hot imho) Also Limmie ask you this,
You know I can't Spell But That Batman Foe, "Ras' A' Rul" (sorry) Anyhoo He has that Daughter that Wants Batman REALLLLLLY Bad right? Well, I'm thankin' Selma Hayeck as the Daughter. I too like Clayface alot, I prefer the Version who has to wear a suit that holds his Colasping body (turning to Clay) Body together, but I suppose that version looks to much like Mr. Freeze, Then there's Two-Face, Love that Villian. I thought Tommy Lee Jones was great for Harvey Just wish they hadn't bothered with the Carrey Riddler in that one.Hey just for Laughs who would you cast as Bat Girl uh "Person"? Silverstone although Cute doesn't count! I'm thinkin' The Red-Head on "That 70's Show" As a matter of fact Although a lil' young that Hot Brunette Mila Kunis Who btw played a Young Angelina Jolie in the Movie "Gia" would be a hot Catwoman although I doubt she's got the Acting abilty. How bout Eliza Dushku (spelling Way off lol) anyhoo, she might be a good Catwoman.

That's Catherine Keener, if you thought she was good in 40 Year Old Virgin, (and she was) check her out in Capote as the gal who wrote To Kill a Mockingbird. But it would be interesting to see someone more Julie Newmar-esque.
I'm not sure about her as Catwoman, but my biggest problem with the 40 Year Old Virgin was the concept Catherine would have any problem getting a guy into bed, even if she was a "hot granny".
I always thought Lyle Lovett would make a great Scarecrow, though he's getting a little too old now.

KEENER Yeah That's her! Man Very hot! Listen I have NO problem with the "Hot Granny" thing I'm probly one of the only people to find "President Royslin" on Galactica VERY HOT! lol When I was 16 my First...Girlfriend was 38 so no problem. lol but I know Hollywood has to go with what sells Tickets...So I guess that's why We got Crap like Katie Holmes! If ya' go with "Hollywood Logic" We'll probly see Jessica Simpson as Wonder Woman! Just The For the Hell of it Lemmie see Lindsey (the Bionic Woman) Wagnor as Oh I dunno, Maybe Wonder Woman's Mom on the Island or Some Aging Ex Super Heroine You follow what I'm saying? I think she's still got it in those Matress Commericals. Liv Tyler would make a Kick A..Butt Batgirl. I used to think Cyndi Lauper YES The Singer lol Would have been a Perfect Harley Quinn, She still can Sound like her! (maybe on an Animated) but back when she was a Big Deal(80's) I think she looked and Sounded Right.
John/Lonfan
XactoHazzard 02-01-2006, 10:44 AM Lindsey Lohan as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon hands down!
