Please keep this as positive as you can when posting.I wanna say i spoke to Chad and danielle today and they're gonna put everything it takes to raise K/N back to the top they gonna address everything that people are concerned about.I'm just trying to get a feel for a better date of the race so its not so close to the Birds and Chad says he's willing to Change the Date to accomadate the racer. i set up the poll so you can vote for 1 or 2 dates.John

The only date that would really bomb would be the one right after Christmas. I just don't think that you'd get a lot of people coming all the way out for the Blast 3 days after Christmas. Most married guys don't have two nickels to rub together by the end of December! And some of us go away for a little R&R with the family that week. I know if I were to tell my wife that I was going to spend my holiday week off, at the track, I'd end up sleeping on Ted's couch, and I'd imagine he don't look so good in morning!

I was looking at some of the pictures and noticed a #24 blue body is that yours rick? man I was laughing I remeber when you first started--it was clear and you ran it like that--too funny. not as bad as my buddys car---SILVER-talk about blinding and distracting.

If you are refferring to the body in the background of the picture of Ted Connolly, then yes it is my car. Yeah when I bought the hyperdive I didn't have time to paint the body until the week after the race. i only ran it like that one week.

I agree that the date of the Winterblast needs to be revised, but do you think moving it 2 or 3 weeks earlier is going to make that much of a difference? My suggestion would be to move it to the first couple weeks in December, now there is a substantial gap between the Blast and Snowbird's, making it easier to do both.

well Chad can make a decision on a date i just thru this out there to get an idea from the racers who have to travel,at least we know the current date can't stay.

early dec, christmas time--might be tuff to fit a weekend of racing fees parts etc in. the 1st or 2nd week of Jan seems to be better for most people-I know I started to recover from the holiday at that time. I say keep it in Jan atleast.

Final decision will be Chad's. I strongly believe that leaving the race one month away from Snowbirds will see the same results of turnout as seen this year. It doesn't matter what weekend of the year is chosen, someone, somewhere, will have something that conflicts, chose a date that is best for the majority, and take the Snowbirds effect out of the picture. Case in point, look at me, I was all pumped for this years race and was sent to New Orleans for work, guess it was my turn to have the conflict.

It seems like most of the locals were already there this year. Let's face it, there aren't oval racers in abundance like the other forms of racing. So to increase attendance at the Blast, we would need to bring in more of the racers that aren't within two hours of CT. That means travel, which means expense. So having it immediately after Christmas makes it tough for most guys. I start to recover from Christmas at least financially, by the middle of January. I Think being 2-3 three weeks before the birds is about the best you can hope for as far as the date is concerned. The rest will lie in the other changes, ie advertising, shop promotion, new carpet, etc etc.
It'll happen.

John,

Im pretty sure Chad's planning for the first weekend of January. We picked alot of dates for events coming up. Im going to get them and email you asap. What I do recall off hand is 3/19 -NEOT -also this is Chads 30th Birthday so Im planning something small to add to the day... and then the Sizzler - 4/30 I believe. He has picked one date per month to host special events. We are also planning for $7.00 race nights - such as 2/24, 3/3 & 3/17...so far. There will also be days were every racer gets a free Practice Pass - or gift - such as on 2/12 - every racer gets a free practice pass. There's a lot of incentives coming out. I have prepared calendars - which will soon be added to the website - but keep in mind Nick's going to be very busy for sometime - so making new postings on the sight will be hard for him. Everyone will have to be patient until Nick can help us out...we love him -so we will gladly wait. LOL
Hey we also need some help painting the track. I think its going to start soon, but any ideas how we can get some help?
Thanks to everyone for all the support - its very much appreciated. Look out for the newsletter - its getting mailed with coupons and calendars this week.
See y'all soon - Danielle

John I sent you an email - check it when you can.

As for the painting, I think we will have to close for about a week, depending on the carpet guy and how much help we can gather... Im hoping all the people who want to see K&N get back on its "track" (rather than feet) may be open to lending a hand. Afterall, I'd be willing to get pizza & refreshments.....maybe even a thank you gift if we can swing it.

I also emailed Rick for some thoughts about this.

Chad just called from Enfield - his car is back up and running after some MAJOR problems so he's in a much better mood and as he put it " i gotta go my race is next" so maybe he can blow off some stress and pull in a decent placement. LOL.

Get back to me on the email when you can. Are you going to the track on Sunday?

Danielle
02-04-2006, 10:34 PM
Oh and I gotta plan for a week to try and close - but again based on the carpet guy most likely. Although I guess we could do one at a time - meaning the painting first and carpet asap. I was thinking maybe just because of NEOT - we should change the carpet right after that? Or do you think we should aim for sooner. I dont know how drastic new carpet will challenge the racers and frustrate them...?...

I guess we could just go crazy warning people so they have no excuse to not get up there and try out the new carpet before the race....

I dont know. What I do know is we gotta call the carpet man ASAP...and Chads going to get a daily reminder from me about it until he does, LOL...man he's going to regret asking for me to help him out. LOL

i may stop by to get the address of the racer i out the award to.can you ask Chad if my shocks and chassis came in?i can get 3-4 people to help on different days.i think the new carpet would put everyone on the same page as far as learning what to use from locals to out of towners.i'll check my email and get back to you tonight or in the morning the basketball games with my son tonight wore me out lol.

Sounds good, thanks. I know your parts didnt come in. (sorry). When you wrote order "next week", literally he ordered them this week. He places his orders at the end of the each week like Thursday or Friday. But I know he mentioned he had some of the things you were looking for - I dont recall what it was.... He will be up at the track tomorrow. He's racing now and he wont be home til who knows when but i will make sure he gets back to you by tomorrow afternoon with a def answer.

I will look for your email response, have a great night, and thanks for your help!

Who is running next weekend? With all the stock guys at madness last night. The turnout should be good for March 19th. 54 is the pace to be. The race will feature one of the last times of racing on the old carpet. Tell me what you think?
