I like the shape of this 1949 Cadillac fastback, even if oversized.
It was considered a ground-breaking design because of its high-compression V-8 engine.
This, to me, is a fantasy die-cast. I am certain that most enthusiasts, even if they found this particular real car in a rough state of repair, would prefer to restore it to original specifications, with its "stock" wheels and chrome.

I prefer my real steel classic cars as original as possible (even the ones from my fantasies that I will never own), but I would'nt say that this particular incarnation is "fantasy". Whether it was restored with "new old stock" parts or customized with modern equipment, billet, crate engines and such, the cost would still be outrageous, but not impossible. Heck, Im sure both types of re-builds are happening some where right now in a garage in north america.
That being said, I would love to see one of these in showroom condition.
For comparison, here is a real Cadillac fastback I photographed last September at a car show in Pownal, Vermont:

I love this car, both in 1:1 and in scale. It's one of my all-time favorites, and my only hope (other than winning the lottery so I can get a real one) is that Jada does it in 1/24 - I'd buy a case of them.

Nice wheel swap! Yep, for now we have to create our own era appropriate looking rides. That god for the screwable bases!
