i have a laptop running windows 98, and when i start up or shut down the size of the screen shrinks to about a quarter of what it should be. once the computer is completely started up the screen size goes back to normal. i noticed there was a full/small screen logo on my F4 key that you could use while holding function key, so i tried that and it didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem. thanks for any help

check your resolution in your properties. put it in safemode and check the settings again.

Does this really matter? I've seen a few systems like this and never knew why it did that. Never put much thought into it though, because once the comp was started it worked fine. I think its just a little bug, but a harmless one.
