All time favorite for me would have to be the ship from "Planet of the Apes" but there are quite a few which rate an extremely close second. TOS Enterprise for one, Thunderbird #2, Fireball XL-5, Jupiter II, Seaview, Martian War Machine, and many more. It is tough to pick just one...

Here's my Top Ten...

Rising Star from the original BSG.
Spindrift
TOS Enterprise
Imperial Stardestroyer
PLANET OF THE APES spaceship
Orion shuttle
Martian War Machine (Pal/ Kinoshita version)
United Planets Crusier C-57-D
Royal Naboo Starship (who cares if it's based on the SR-71)
tug & refinery from ALIEN

Well, if you limit the choices to only movie spaceships, I"d have to say the Enterprise D. For those long voyages, a ship full of young women or access to a holodeck would be a must.

Despite it's mistakes in measurements, I'd have to go with the Jupiter 2 for my favorite TV choice.

Did the Seaview go into space in some episode? I'm not doubting the possibility, I just don't remember that. Hey, they had flying subs, why not spaceship subs?

White Star.

It's just so . . . . different.

The Millenium Falcon... ha, ha...

Seriously, I'd say the movie Enterprise. It took me a while to like it since I prefer the lines of the TOS ship, but eventually it grew on me.

The Super Star Destroyer for its sheer terror-inducing looks.

From the movies: The United Planets Cruiser C57-D from Forbidden Planet. It was the first sci-fi flick to show a saucer-shaped Earth spaceship, and, aside from some of the controls and instrumentation looking a bit dated (it's been 50 years, after all), the interior layout still looks practical, functional and very military. Also the American Airlines space freighters Berkshire, Valley Forge and Sequoia (okay, it was really just one model) from Silent Running -- IMO, one of the most detailed and believable physical spaceship models ever made for a movie, and that was 35 years ago. The dressed-up aircraft carrier interiors look great too!

From TV: The TOS Enterprise -- what else? I also thought the Space: 1999 Eagles were pretty cool, with the concept of the modular design with interchangeable mission pods.

Y-Wing

Got an email from Master Replicas today announcing the Y-wing as their next "studio scale" replica. I'm not a huge fan of this particular design, but if you've got an extra $800.00 sitting around here's your chance to blow it on something frivolous and expensive.

Funny that you could swap the titles of the favorite and worst threads and no one would notice.

Well,

TOS Enterprise
TMP Enterprise
Excelsior
Space: 1999 Eagle
2001 Moonbus
Y-wing
Millennium Falcon
TIE fighter
POTA Icarus

I love the design but I'll have to spend that money on something else, I think.

The original TV-series Jupiter 2. With lines ranging between the Gemini 12, and the four-foot Jupiter 2 hero prop. NO FAT JUPITER 2's!

Is that clear?

My Fav's would probably have to go like this.......

TMP Enterprise......................Just such a sleek beautiful craft.
TOS Battlestar Galactica.........Always loved it. All 6,080 feet of it.
Imperial Stardestroyer............Perfect instrument of military might.
Millenium Falcon....................Dynamic flight and offset looks.
Andromeda (Starblazers/Space Cruiser Yamato)...Sleek like the TMP E.
Space 1999 Eagle..................Really looks like something NASA might build.
X-Wing................................Design still holds up and looks fast.
Super Stardestroyer...............Same reasons as stated above.
Enterprise 'E'.........................Almost as sleek as the TMP E.
(AGT) Enterprise 'D'................Three engines and that laser kicks-butt.

TMP Enterprise - made the classic TOS Enterprise even more graceful.
TOS Enterprise - always liked her lines.
Thunderbird 3 - the 6 foot model they used in close-ups in the show - amazing!
Thunderbird 1 - the version you see lifting off in the credits.
Space:1999 Eagle - design closest to "Real Space."
Millennium Falcon - screaming around the asteroid with 4 TIE Fighters in hot pursuit!
Thunderbird 2 - still a cool design, forward swept wings years before X-29.
X-Wing, Y-Wing - The Battle of Yavin
Enterprise E - Best TNG era Enterprise design.
Enterprise D - Design grew on me. Enterprise should have nacelles on pylons that angle directly up from the secondary hull though, not outward laterally and then up.
NX-01 - Should have been more "primitive," but liked once I made a model of it.
